Watching a show on history they're talking about those two armored guys who robed that bank years ago in LA. Some idiot just said that the robbers were shooting rounds that are designed to shoot thru tanks so they go thru cop cars like hot knife thru butter. Um sorry but unless they were shooting incendiary rounds they're not going thru a tank. This is the stupid poop the masses see, hear and read and don't know any better?!??

Depends on the tank I suppose. I punched a red tent stake through the hull of a m551 Sheridan. Not very confidence inspiring. I drove a Russian BMP1 for a few years and parts of that baby felt pretty thin.

OPFOR baby. 1/11ACR. Counter recon platoon. also licenced on T72, MTLB, BTR 70, BRDM, ZSU23-4....however the BMP was my favorite. Like a racecar. 5 speed manual. Steel track would powerslide anywhere. Nothing like blasting 75kph straight cross country open hatch wearing nods in the middle of the night.

It is! They would drop them in with the 82nd and 101st. 155MM main gun/ missile launcher. Just not too tough. Front slope and turret were pretty thick. Rest was pretty sorry.

Bordom. M551s were the old air droppable tanks. Aluminum and foam.

LOL that explains the tanks in California, they had to be made out of recycled material and Green Peace complaint.

I was assigned to be a Bradley Gunner for one training rotation while in the Army. I appreciate it more now after the fact but wanted out of that bastard whenever I was in it. We used to joke around and call it our steel coffin.
