mossy AR barrel.

Putting a AR together for a family member who just got out of the coast guard. since this rifle will spend most of its life as a desert plinker I'm not worried about spending a ton. Found mossberg barrels for $129 ($145 shipped) 1/7 5.56 melonite inside and out. still deciding on a handguard but hope to have it together soon. very curious to see if this thing shoots. Can't find too much info online that's not suspect.

I don't know about their AR barrels but Mossberg makes a LOT of shotgun barrels, which people then market as their own product.

Its not marked mossberg. Just 5.56 1/7 on the muzzle inc. would be easy to rebrand.

Not only shotgun, as Jon said already - Mossy makes a lot of rifle barrels for other companies, too.  All the "base model" barrels on the Zel Custom AR large caliber bolt uppers are Mossberg barrels, since that company started making those uppers.  Mossy makes a good rifle barrel - bet the thing shoots very well.  <thumbsup>
