Started getting the old (1970) Seasprite ready for this year   

 

Charging the batteries right now, this weekend I'm going to change the plugs and lower unit oil.

 

So how many of you fish and what is your favorite catch?

 

Mine is crappie and the biggest was 16" 

 

 I'll see if I can find a couple of pics of some past catches and post them later.

Haven't been in three years (building our retirement home) but plan to go pretty soon. Love to fish the small out of the way creeks and rivers from a 10' solo canoe or 12' creek boat using ultra light tackle (2# test). On that rig a 1/2# Bream is a battle!

Very cool bro,I use ultra light also it's a blast.Tying knots with 2# hurts my hands.

It's on it's way it went out fast down here, hitting up the rock river Sunday hopfully catch some crappie and walleye maybe some northern or cats too

Looks like some home builds on the top canoes and creek boat.

Yep, the 10' was the first one I built about 30 years ago.  Based on the Wee Lassie design and weighs in at 16#, the one beside it is a 12'-6" C-1 solo boat I built for light white water (class 3 and below) that weighs in at a whoppin' 19#. I also have a triple seat "Barge" 15'-9" we use for canoe camping that is fairly heavy at 55# (you can solo it but it is a real bitch!).  The creek boat I sold to a friend and he uses it for fly fishing for Trout in small rivers.  It is 12'-6" and weighs about 50#.  I've probably designed and built 40 boats for friends over the past 30 years and plan to build more as my "retirement" job. If you get interested in building a strip boat let me know and I'll send you an AutoCAD drawing file you can have full size frame drawings printed from. They are as much fun to build as they are to use!  Go catch some big ones!
