I blame the chloroform...

I found out recently that chloroform is actually quite deadly, I'm going to lend you guys a ball peen hammer and hope my skull hasn't thinned any since my teens.....  <laughs>

 

That reminds me of what my grandfather told me about his experiences in WWII. He was on the German side of things. The Germans ran out of morphine and other stuff, so what do you do when you gotta cut out some shrapnel and sew a guy up? It was called 'die Hammernarkose'.

 

The 'hammer narcotic'. Take a hammer and hit the guy on his head right behind the ear, and he's out. Trouble is, if you hit too hard, he's just dead. Not hard enough, and he's in even worse pain than before.
