6132expert
Well I don't think it cheaper in the 308 realm, but in the 556 I think they can be built pretty much cheaper then bought.JMO

My personal best reason for DIY is I dont carry a new gun into the house. They just magically appear from within the safe and nobody has any explaining to do <laughs>
edgecrusher
Like a genie, <thumbsup>, I'm lucky,my sig. other is just starting off with bodyguard 380 and is an unfortunate lefty and left with one choice in the ar market
Robocop1051
How much begging would I have to do to see a picture of that Gen II upper without the side rail installed? I assume that the three screws on the side are so that is an optional feature... Have you found a purpose for the side rail yet?
survivalshop
I don't use mine & have it off . Not a good placement of rifle in the photos. With it missing ,the upper looks smoother . I would like to eventually find some thing I can use on the rail.If you take yours off ,imschur ,notice those are custom screws holding it on , don't lose them. imschur
The rail currently means nothing to me either way so while I have no use for it I wont be removing it.Thanks for the tip though
Robocop1051
I just paid for my F-0 upper and BCG, also picked up the S/S bolt catch, screws and barrel extention. I'll keep you all updated.
Turbotezza
I hope you get yours faster than I did. My FDE plated upper/lower set took them 10 weeks to deliver.
Robocop1051
In defense of SI Defense, they advised that the F-0 parts were going to be done pretty fast, but warned me that the OD plating would take several weeks longer. I figure that gives me time to save for my ABS barrel.
imschur
They probably wait until they have a predetermined minimum batch to coat.
