bmoney9
Hey Everyone, Anyone out there homebrewers? I am looking for some new recipes. Just put together my kegerator. Found a free mini fridge that fits 2, 5 gal kegs, and my gf bought a stainless steel tower for me to put on it. So it's looking pretty cool. Almost to all grain setup. Have the equipment, getting lazy to setup.
edgecrusher
Welcome to he forum, but be warned! You will need a cot if you want to get robo to drink, cause he needs naps often! But I may know a few elite men willing to help....

Rsquared
+1 <thumbsup> on that. Never met a beer that I wouldn't at least try. Rene (unforgiven) and I will jump on that grenade and try to drain the keg.......good or bad........somebody has to do it......especially if it's a local Mass beer. (tasty by the way) And Edge is right. Make sure you have a cot for Robo. But be respectful now.....let em sleep and don't do the childish sharpie gags....hand in warm water gag...blah, blah blah. After all, we're supposed to be adults. If we could resist......so can you. <laughs> Welcome to the forum by the way bmoney. BigP623
I grow my own Hops (none this year tho, the local brew shop closed down :( ) and just about everything I brew is hopped to the hilt. I love me some IPAs with high alky content. Im not all grain just yet I usually buy 2 - 4 kits from midwest and pick and choose ingredients to make 2 killer brews. Also the ingredient kits I buy are a hybrid as in half liquid malt half grain. I also have my garage fridge converted into a kegerator and use ball lock kegs I got from a friend to keg my brews. Much easier than bottling by far. So how deep into brewing are you so far, for me its just another addiction to spend my money on. Sure as hell doesn't end up cheaper than buying it by far. :hethan:

BigP623
Pretty much a friend of mine got me into it with the lie that it was cheaper and it ended up being far more expensive in the end for me. All the accessories.....all the accessories... ::)

I've done clones of Pliny the Elder from RR. My next will be Sculpin from Ballast Point. I'm sure you have heard of these. I have 6 corny kegs and 2 2.5 gal kegs. The 2.5 gal kegs are my favorite though, easy portability for camping and what not. I am by no means an expert. I consider myself an enthusiast at the mid level. Yes this hobby takes a lot of money, however I have saved a lot of money by drinking my own brew!
BigP623
Yeah I just can't see the cost savings with my current setup. I have brewed about 2 dozen brews over the years and have an easy 2k in equipment that Ive purchased over the years. I just gave away an entire setup to my brother in law a few months back to consolidate what I had to a manageable amount. I can currently brew 4 beers at a time although I only have 2 kegs right now so I only do 2 at a time since I don't bottle any longer. I still keep a few dozen grolsch flip tops around with some spare gaskets just incase for special occasion brews that needa come with on the road. planeflyer21
My buddy used to make mead. It was usually very tastey...until he started experimenting with putting chiles in the bottles.
BigP623
Don't care to much for the Mead. I like to drink liquid hops myself. lol side note: NOLA brewing company has a brew out called Mecca Hopps, 8.8 % ally and hopped to the most extreme I've had in a while. Quite a great beer. planeflyer21
Yeah, this dude brewing the mead insisted it was "honey wine", nothing like mead. Until he saw some movie about mead, then he called it mead.
