Owl21 Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) I had a bunch of spare parts laying around. The flier was from an ant biting me right as I was breaking the trigger. Edited July 12, 2014 by Owl21
Microgunner Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 That's some mighty fine shootin. Stupid ant!
Owl21 Posted July 12, 2014 Author Report Posted July 12, 2014 Thanks guys. I was also using PPU 75 grain for that spread. I wonder what would happen if I used some Blackhills or Hornady match ammo.
planeflyer21 Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 Great shooting! Looks like the challenge has been thrown down for "Just had some spare parts laying around..." rifles.

I better dig deeper into my spare parts bins. To be fair, that target was at 50 yards (for a 200 yard zero), but it is still sub MOA...barely!
NTXshooter Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 Nice shooting. Nice looking rifle for spare parts or otherwise.
washguy Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 Owl Man you're in Texas.......50yds is pistol range <lmao> Wash
Owl21 Posted July 13, 2014 Author Report Posted July 13, 2014 Owl Man you're in Texas.......50yds is pistol range <lmao> Wash It's all I've got for free, and is a dead ringer for a 200 yard zero, which is what I was doing (zeroing the scope.) That way when I go to the 1000 yard range, I am not wasting ammo.
j.peace Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 The ballistics that I've researched for 155 grain shows for a 200 yd zero . zeroing at 50 yards should be about 1/2 inch high. Is that right? That's where I zero'd my mbus at.
unforgiven Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 @ 25 yrds. I go for 2" above bull for 100 yrd. zero and it gets me close when i get to 100. <dontknow>

From this platform, shooting 75 gr BTHP from the 20" barrel, the difference between 50 yards and 200 yards is -0.01 MOA which is effectively 0.0 inches
j.peace Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 Agreed .223 an .308 definitely different ballistics
