Craig127 Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 Just bought my new LR308, Lite Hunter, I also purchased new hand guards, the composite ones that are sold on the weapon are slippery when your hand sweats. Problem is, I purchased a GenII weapon, and GenI hand guards. I was able to return the hand guards but now I can't find any GenII replacements. Does anyone know if GenII hand guards are being manufactured by any other company. I contacted DPMS and they advised that they have not made any after market hand guards for GenII weapons.
survivalshop Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 New weapon system on the market for DPMS & it will take a while for after market replacement components . I thought they were to use AR 15 type hand guards , but more than likely they are propriety to DPMS.
FaRKle! Posted July 13, 2014 Report Posted July 13, 2014 I don't know of any aftermarket handguards for the G2 yet, but Midwest Industries and Samson make rails for it.
Robocop1051 Posted July 15, 2014 Report Posted July 15, 2014 (edited) Any AR15 rail/handguard will fit... With the appropriate barrel nut. The G2 standard barrel nut has the same outer dimensions as the AR15. You just have to disassemble the delta ring. I recommend the APEX Edited July 15, 2014 by Robocop1051
