  1. It is the 38 special revolver Bodyguard in black. I am not sure of the exact model #. It is very light and has a built in laser sight and no exposed hammer, as such there is no safety to mess with. Aim and pull trigger gun goes bang! It is a nice gun for carry.
  2. We were at Walmart looking at what they had and the wife saw a pink 22 rifle and wanted it until I told her it was sized for a child. I am thankful that when we went to get her 38 special the gunsmith (also salesman) talked her out of this weird pink something or another model and we got the Smith & Wesson bodyguard. I told her I would get her a pink holster for it if she got the S & W.
  3. That is a very interesting handgun, I like it. I know I want a 1911 so the conversion ki may work to save $ on ammo for that one, but knowing about the FN 5.7 makes me want that too. Too many nice firearms out there. Wish I could get them all.
  4. I have a reminton rifle with a couple of 30 round mags. So far they work fine, no miss feeds or jams. When they wer new it was tight to load but much easier now. I had not concidered the problems you mentioned and can see problems. Maybe a 22 is not what I want. I will have to think on it so,e more. Thanks for the insights to problems.
  5. I have been looking at many different .22 pistols and am noticing that the magazine capacity is only around 10. I don't know why as larger Cal handgunds have larger magazines so why only 10 in a. 22? Thanks
  6. Which was easier to explain? Better yet, which excuse worked?
  7. It's cool how one can go online and find a wife. Never would have guessed the internet would be any good for that when I first got it back in the day.
  8. That is some crazy stuff. I met my wife via big church.com and while your required to pay to chat somehow that part was broken and we exchanged emails for free. Turned out she lived only 10 miles away. The rest is history. Got married on Feb 14.
  9. Looking at the list, which is impressive BTW, I see MOA is minute of angle. I don't see what that means <dontknow> I did look it up on yahoo. That was the term that promoted me to make this post. With such a lenghty list it would take a long time to provide definitions for everything, but for some of the most commonly used it could be done. Maybe the top 20 most used or something? <munch>
  10. WOW! That is great. How about PTA Pass The Ammo. LOL
  11. OK I was thinking that because it was suh a short range for the rifle that I would never notice anything but the joy of shooting. I am glad to have such a resource as this site and it members. Thanks. I can't wait to get out there. I know it will only make me want to find a longer range. 8)
  12. I am wondering if the is a section on this site for definitions and abbreveations. A dictionary, if you will, for us newbies to go look things up without having to leave the site and use a search engine to learn?
  13. Welcome from NC
  14. Ah there is the rub. This will be the furthest distance I have shot with my still "new" Bushmaster ORC 308. I can sight it in on the tree if i get a ladder down there to put up some paper. LOL
  15. My scope is a Bushnell Banner Dusk & Dawn 6-18 x 50mm. It does have marks to know how much is adjusted. One can even reset the zero to your new sighting if you had a mind to. As far as scopes go it was not expensive but what I could afford. So far as i can tell it works.
  16. Thanks. This is the only place I am going to have to shoot for a while. I sure don't want to make adjustments to the scope and mess up center.

    Got pork?

Nice! Good luck on the next outing. Is night time better than day to hunt boar? Sure wish I knew where to go shoot a wild boar.
  18. I don't have a "proper" level place to shoot yet but I finally have a very nice down hill range. I have not measured it, I guess I should do that next. My guess is that it is maybe 100 yards. The angle is steep at estimated 15° to 20°. I am wondering how much this is going to affect my sighting of target vs retical, if any, at this short of distance? I am shooting in my back woods down towards the creek. All the level areas are way to short, even for fun with a 22. I have not yet used this new spot yet. I want to set up some sort of decking or something flat to shoot from instead of laying on the dirt. My target will have a 2" thick steel back stop and if i miss real bad there is a 4 foot diameter tree right there. So it should be very safe. If some how it gets past all that the next stop will be the creek another 15" away. No getting past that. LoL end of the hill, end of the line.
  19. Happiness is a warm gun on the first date ;)

  22. You know I had similar feelings. Just purpetuating ignorance. They may like the free "advertising" but be upset with the price!

    Hahahahaha nice <thumbsup> <munch>
  24. The first season was more interesting. Now they appear to be copying things from "Sons of Guns" aka Red Jacket Firearms. That is a good show most times.
