  1. Still waiting on the right barrel deal to come along. Not 100% sure which way I want to go with it. Should have ordered from Fulton when they were on sale...but, something else will come up. Gun HAS to be done by Sept for a little trip I'm going on. We'll see what happens.
  2. A whole bunch of that green stuff.... :D I currently have a stripped upper and lower, a charging handle and soon a BCG. That's about it on the .308 build so far, already around $1200 into it. Waiting on more cash, or deals that can't be passed up. I'll probably pick up the rest of the parts to finish out the upper/lower next month.
  3. Waiting on my chrome .308 BCG from JSE only $263 shipped <munch> They were always out of stock....swung by the site other day and they had 2 in. Just had to order it. One of these days...I'll have the whole gun :o
  4. What a way to spend a Birthday! Glad to see you had a good time out there.
  5. The survey field thought GIS would come and go. We should have been right there on the front of it as it came into the world. I've taken a few GIS courses at a local school here and we've started a GIS department over the past few years (though I have nothing to do with it). I'm a Party Chief and spend all my time out in the field surveying. The things that can be done with GIS are just amazing!
  6. I love the San Luis Obispo area. I went to Cal Poly SLO for a very short while and really loved living there. Started off going into Civil Engineering, wound up a Land Surveyor. Makes me wish I'd done a little more school work and a little less time on Greek row. What bring you out to CA regularly?
  7. Someday....they'll figure it out. I'm kinda hoping CA will fall into the ocean as promised, and take a whole load of liberals with it.
  8. I don't know if I'm more jealous of the guns or the guitars! I'm in...I'll get some shots this weekend, though the subjects will be a lot more on the plain-jane side. <munch>
  9. Guilty! ;)
  10. Howdy all. Just getting started on my first 308 build. Picked up a JD Machine matched upper/lower a little while back and will someday begin to gather parts(as fast as I can stash cash away from the wife). Going to have one of those really fancy bullet buttons installed on this one thanks to all the fine folk here in Commifornia who don't believe law abiding citizens should own anything more dangerous than a q-tip. I'd move, but the weather is awesome here in San Diego and work is still paying the bills at the moment. Looking forward to soaking up as much info as I can....and unfortunately all I can share in return is photo help, graphic design, vinyl decals and maybe even a little land surveying. Thanks for having me.
  11. Quiet....LMFAO....good luck!
  12. I don't think professional is really the right term...more like a paid hobbyist :o I think photography is my biggest hobby anymore. Make a trip or two out to the desert each year and hope to start doing a LOT more shooting soon. I'm only everything minus the stripped upper/lower and a charging handle away from being done with the 308 ;D
