  1. I gotta come stay at your place for a weekend. Rumor has it if you put one of those pins under your pillow...when you wake up there'll be a fully assembled ar in its place. <laughs>
  2. <lmao> <lmao> <lmao> <laughs> Welcome. And good luck with that comment.
  3. Any good with carb cleaner? You're going to need to be. The oil in your two stroke mix will cause all the problems. I am by no means a mechanic...luckily I know a guy who knows a guy, or something like that. All I know is that I used to have a few two stroke bikes and if they were left sitting for too long the carb would gum up and usually the bottom of the tank as well. It doesn't take more than one little hole to be plugged up and it will not run. Carb cleaner is cheap, but if you're not into taking it apart, you'd best find a small engine shop to tackle it. Just my $0.02 good luck
  4. Hey,hey now...that's below the belt. :o Sweet lamp, excellent idea. <thumbsup>

    SoCal Shooters

Hunting is limited to a few family friends, but shooting wise I have access to a little ranch that runs from the 79 to pinevalley bridge along the 8. <thumbsup>
  6. I hope it was a "had" as well. I had my fair share of issues with their tolerances being a bit tight. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the gun.
  7. Mine is #57 and I have yet to have a problem with either of my pmags <thumbsup>
  8. so, now that you have a few extra bucks a month coming in......how much closer are we? <dontknow> <munch>
  9. So, I figure you're just too SCARED to pull the trigger....................... :o
  10. Very plug-n-play. From what was posted in the thread on my build, it appears they make an AR-10 based model as well....so you should be able to run any direction you want. That's a fair price for the matched set...I over payed and was a little bugged about that, but I also bought it on impulse with no research at all from a store I know is always overpriced...so I was only mad at myself. JD seems to make some pretty quality parts and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. Give them a call down at their shop and talk to Rob before you buy anything...he might even be able to save you a buck or two. They've been extremely good to me both times I stopped by and they'll answer any question you have-goofy or not (trust me, I had some goofy ones for 'em) <thumbsup>
  11. You guys wouldn't happen to make that configuration in something a hair bigger would you?...say, 338L?
  12. 0001? Holy crap! I'm sure you'll be fine. Things are tight on mine, but hopefully that means she'll stay tight for a long time to come.
  13. Not yet, but I am SOOOOO looking forward to it. :o
  14. hey, I was just going by what the site said <dontknow> <thumbsup> They disappeared pretty fast before, just wanted to give everyone a heads up. The price isn't too bad.
  15. Awesome...yeah, when I talked to Rob it sounded like they knew the first batches were a little too tight and have smoothed things up a touch. I'll just have to shoot mine a little more to break her in. I'm getting close. For the most part it's assembled. Trying to decide on a scope and mount right now. Decided to ditch the PRI top rail. It's a bit heavier than I thought it would turn out, but it's sitting right at 10lbs with empty mag and seems really well balanced.
  16. wow! That is B.A.D A.S.S <lmao> Seriously though...I want one <thumbsup>
  17. I'll add a "staff photographer" to the mix <laughs> Welcome aboard! It's not a gun photo, but I'll have more of those soon. <thumbsup>
  18. JSE has a few BCG's currently in stock. $250 chrome and $210 phosphate. Not super deals, but not bad if you're looking. 3 chrome left and a dozen or so phosphate. http://www.jsesurplus.com/ar308.aspx
  19. No no, re-read that. If you start a Lapua, I will start another 308 ;)
  20. Well...another build has to start somewhere. I'll buy one, but only if 98 starts a Lapua build first <thumbsup>
  21. I use a $10 card reader and connect through USB. I can drop 4GB in about 5 minutes. I'm not a fan of the wireless cards but I do like the idea of having each shot viewable on the comp right away. Someday, I'll have to set up a better laptop and shoot tethered to it. To get back on topic...I'm doing chores this weekend. Round Up the whole backyard, start the bathroom remodel, swap out the kitchen sink....and whatever else the boss throws at me. <thumbsup> ....IFF she can get me off the couch <laughs>
  22. Sounds like a plan. <thumbsup> Can't wait to see your build.
  23. Yeah...Mine wasn't tapped, but it had been drilled out. The hole mic'd out larger than it should have been for 6-32. Serial Number on mine is 57. They also had the first batch waaaay tight on the tolerances, so hopefully you won't run into too many of those issues. It didn't wind up being too big of a deal...just had to get a longer set screw and thread the hole a little deeper. Seeing as no LPK's come with two of those pins, I would think the lower receiver SHOULD come with one. I didn't pick mine up straight from JD, and would have never figured out what their plan was without calling Rob about it. Oh well, she's all patched up and functions just fine now. <thumbsup> Still looking for free time to get the upper assembled...maybe this weekend if the wife lets me have a break. I've only had two days I didn't work so far this month...and this weekend she has plans for me to start tearing apart a bathroom :o
  24. Start shooting in RAW format, and the white balance is never a problem. You can change it around after the fact because the information has not been locked into a compressed jpeg. I love digital <thumbsup>
  25. And for a side note...if you're getting your matched set from JD as a stripped set, ask Rob for the pin they use for the rear detent. That hole is drilled to be tapped 6-32 and they use the same threaded pin that goes with the bolt catch to take up the extra slack and keep tension on the rear detent pin. Almost no LPK will come with two of those pins, so grab one from him while you're there <thumbsup>
