I have some Chromo results from shooting Tuesday from the 18" Criterion Barrel ( 10 shots @ 100 yards ) , these results are with my Magneto-speed Chronograph . The results I copied & pasted of the 155 Amax & 155 Nosler Match were with my RCBS Chromo .. Case primer Bullet/ weight Powder Charge wt. Avg. Velocity ES SD Temp. LC CCI SMK 155gr. Tac 43.0 gr. 2793 61 33 95 deg. I don't like the ES & SD , but hey shot very good , I had to walk down the SMK to the center of the target , but once there ,the next six shots we in one raged hole , so I will just keep this charge wt. & see how the load does in my 16" & 20 " bbl's. The 18" spits the SMK's out pretty fast , can't wait to see what the 16 " & 20 " do with them .Also the difference in Chrono's may have something to do with it , one is 10' away , the Magneto-speed is at the muzzle . Below are the results with my 16" & the other two bullet types & only 3-5 shots. The WW primers are over twenty years old . # Case Primer Powder Chg. WT./grs . Bullet wt/.grs. Type Manuf. Avg. Well , it doesn't seem that we are going to find out , unless I want a 14" Barrel , which I don't . I got this this morning , I apologize but we do not have any of the 16"'s left. I am refunding the order. I do know we have some of the 14"'s. nate I got a tracking number which shows up on the Fedex web sight saying a table was made , but no travel , but a delivery date of today . Some strange stuff going on here . I just looked & it shows the Barrel I wanted is out of stock now , I guess it was meant to be , I liked the Barrels configuration , a Med. wt. BBL> , The 14" is a Light wt. -
All three of my Criterion Barrels shoot sub MOA , 16",18" & the 20" HB will shoot better then that .

Now , Now , lets keep an open mind . I did & an open wallet , well maybe not me , but if it doesn't work out , I may be stuck with it . -
Show off ! I have seen the HP Bolts with the small dia. firing pin http://www.fulton-armory.com/bolttitancompleted.aspx has them , D.Wilson sells striped Bolt Carriers also . If you just want to build a 308AR & don't want to wait for an Areo to be available , go with the one of the ones you mentioned , if you don't like it when done , just sell it .

Already shipped , now that's service -
Myself , I would have been the biggest prick they ever met & would not have stood for the Machine markings on any of the components & would have told them the Lower receiver moving away from the Upper ( or what ever its doing ) is a danger to me & shooters around me & I want the rifle replaced or they would be hearing from Legal assistance , thats just me though , probably why I have never bought a Factory AR of any sort . Not that you can get bad ones , but if I build one that does that , I would expect those manufacturers to replace those effected components also & its all on me ,not relying on someone else to make that decision . If Factory Armalites are being made to that new standard , they have come a long way to ruin a Icon in the AR industry & I hope they are reading these posts & maybe someone should send them a link to this Thread . If your happy or satisfied with you decision & their lame excuses , thats OK too . Its your rifle & your decision , I think you did well .

Well I ordered one , he said they shoot good , we will see . -
I watched it also , he spoke from the heart & you could tell . He gave up on the Teleprompter about half way through his speech . Wonder how many ex-military hero's the Democommie's will have speak .

WE will see , depends on what Nate's reply is , I'm pretty sure these guys have built rifles around this Barrel , they do a lot of work down there & are really busy . Are your Barrels , Hammer Forged or are any Hammer forged ? -
New to Forum building a DPMS LR 308
survivalshop replied to JourneyMan84's topic in DPMS LR-308 General, Technical Discussion
How about some photos of you Buffer assembly & Where your Receiver Extension ( Buffer tube ) is attached to the Lower Receiver. Sounds like its hitting something back there , any rub marks on anything , like inside the Receiver Extension ? Spring could be binding in there or the Buffer , hard to say with out photo's of your set up . -

And it seems Polygonal are Hammer Forged , is what I read . This just gets more interesting by the minute . -
Areo M 5, see Unclemoak's build in the 308 members build section . And I even like the color .

I'm thinking there is some word play going on with that ad ( I thought Polygonal rifled Barrels really don't have Grooves any way ) & I also can't see a single grove as was described & told them so . Nate will get back with me pretty fast , I have met him & spoke to him when picking up Lowers , I may have to go look at this Barrel . -

I don't want to tell them , yet , but I may be forced to purchase it , to try . I need a Barrel for a build & this may be it . I have a Wilson Combat 1-7 , 16" light wt . to compare it with . -

Received an answer from my email . I replied to ask if any of them have or used one & how did it shoot . From Tacticalmtchining Not a typo. Its a proprietary rifle technique. nate -
Nice ! Now all you need is a MechArmor charging handle ,after you mount your scope , it will be obvious .
-
I had a choice of the Tan I used or OD Green or Foliage green , I didn't want to wait for an order , I couldn't stand the white , the Tan isn't bad . Black from now on . Dye them , not sure the Thermal plastic will take a dye , someone else try , I'm happy with my tan ones now . I have a 20 & a 10 rounder , now
-
I have no experience with any of those & no, a Forward assist is not needed , unless you want one .
-
They should have those kits at Gander Mountain or other big chains stores .

Nor did I , I had to email them , curiosity always get the better of me , its why I asked . -
Well I ordered & got these sand colored LR PMags & they might be OK in that white colored play sand , but I didn't expect them to be white , I could stand them & had to paint them with some camo paint I had . Much better , wish I had some FDE paint , but these will do .

The only issue with that is you could be mistaken for another shooter . I would only if, I was with or next to a LEO .
