Well the dark greasy happened to a batch of 5.56 brass again , I just did a batch of 308 brass & no issue , I think I actually found the true cause . The Dillon case lube I use has lanolin & isopropyl alcohol in it . The Alcohol is used to thin it for a light application & flash off , well I have several bottles of the Dillon Case Lube ( I don't like to run out ) & the one I'm on is really low & I think the Isopropyl Alcohol is gone from it making it thicker , no flashing off , so I think I have been over lubing the cases for one & even using dish soap & hot water to rinse them after sizing was not good enough to get it all off . Nor the dish soap & Lemishine in with the S/S ,good enough . So this last batch I did yesterday , is when I figured there was too much Lube on the cases , so I used a Bio-degradable De-greaser that I use on my Harley Parts ( Formula 88 ) & sprayed in on the cases in a wash tube in my utility sink & it didn't take much , them cases came out from just the degreaser almost clean enough to reload , but I did the S/S cleaning any way & they came out like new shinny brass , like I'm used to from the wet Tumbling . I also noticed the water from the Tumbler was not all that black So , since I've been doing a batch every day , today I'm going to add some Isopropyl Alcohol to the last of the bottle of Dillon Lube to see how it works & still use the De-greaser to make sure that Lanolin is gone .

Man Spartacus , your first post & its full of a lot of misinformation in it . Did you even watch those videos ? The Piston system & the DI system AR's ran the same amount of ammo to fail , not to mention the DI rifle used a lighter Barrel then the Piston system . The Fuking AK was custom built & only went a total of 95 rounds more then the AR's , not a true comparison to an off the shelf AK . I like those videos , not something I would do with any select fire weapon I owned . For your information , I was a Class III FFl for a whole bunch of years & got to build & fire a host of weapons , most here would give there right nut to have .

The marks on the Bolt , as said ,appear to be machining marks , poor QC. They don't look shiny as they would if they were contacting the Barrel Extension locking Lugs . The fitment of the Upper to the Lower troubles me , as far as it appears to be out of alignment , not good mechanically or for accuracy . Let us know what they do .

Just read the rifle was 5.45x39 caliber , wonder if thats correct . The lame stream media is still saying its a C & R SKS.

I did a CMMG Billet Lower to a SI Defense Gen II Billet Upper , not exactly something I would recommend for a beginner , but thats up to you . There needs to be a slight gap between the Upper & lower , because too tight.can cause issues also , I used shim stock to get the proper fitment . I shimmed the front Pivot area first evenly for proper alignment & they are removed after Steelstick is set up, finish needs to be removed if you want the Steelstick to stay ( use plenty of Release agent if you want the Receivers to come apart ) The results were very good this rifle is an 18" & shoots real well , most don't ned this kind of treatment , its why I like to use same brand uppers & lowers as a set. Steelstick & do not forget a Release agent on the parts you want to come apart , modeling clay was tested for the proper amount of Steel stick Used these shims after finding out how much play was in the front , a Shim on each side of the Upper Receivers Pivot Lug, held in place by Loctite & fine tun ing the hole in the Shim for Pin fitment .
