  1. I see no mention of what trigger system is in the rifle , could make a big difference.
  2. That's the co. that made the all Titanium AR 308 that they say is worth 100K & they will make you one for around 50K. Its also the same co. in the new book of AR's I have about the 300win mag.. Didn't know they had a vid on it already . Wonder how much for one of them ? I may have to ask & see if they will sell components ( ya right ).
  3. Not sure if how much we have discussed this subject , but I'm interested in building one . I now there is one co. that is in experimenting with it . They're in the new AR15 magazine. & military Snipers are interested. I think the only real problem would be the upper & lower .I don't see a problem with having a barrel made , the bolt face might need attention, can add weight or heavy spring , or both . Has it been done already . I know a 30'06 version is out there.
  4. I'm trying to picture it with an 18" bbl. , extended mag. & ghost ring fiber optic sights <thumbsup> .
  5. I ordered the Magpul single point sling attachment for this stock & of course I had to add other things to get the shipping free. The stock is set up for a spacer to be replaced with this sling attachment & its made of steel . Just hope it makes it here before I leave for camp.
  6. I'll take some for ya . I plan on range time tomorrow with my new stock set on the 870 & I'll let the 1100 tag along to test the magnifier @ 100 yrds.
  7. I just got the Magpul stock set & extra stock risers from Brownells . They had the stock I wanted for a while but not the hand guard or the risers & I wanted them all together . I thought it would not be available before I went to gun week , but it all came & & I have them in hand . I like Magpul products , as do many others & this stock set did not disappoint . Very well made & solid , my only beef is I can't use my newly purchased single point sling attachment. I could get & install a longer screw , but the stock wouldn't seat the way they designed it & I know they make there own . I will have to get one quick , before I leave. I was just pumped to try a singer point sling this year. I settled on the highest stock riser & I had to add one spacer to the butt pad to get the proper length of pull for me . Oh yes , all in FDE. Hay , Magpul , if your listening , I 'll take a set for my 1100 !
  8. There was a guy bow hunting one of my stands up there & saw eight bucks walk past the stand I normally hunt in . Now if one of them would only do that when I'm in it ! The ridge I hunt , I have stands set at, low ,middle & high . I normally hunt the high one, first day or two .
  9. This sight comes with flip up covers , so that will not be a problem . I think just getting used to it is , as with any thing new . It also comes with a screw on ,2X magnifier & I will try that @ 100 yrds & see how that changes the grouping . I have some full sized deer targets to play with also , well half of a deer any way , the important parts .
  10. Well , I'm not sure how to put this & not sound like an A$$Hole , but its going to get a lot dirtier when you put even just a hundred rd's through her & forget about any marks on the brass deflector , it will get much worse . If its a safe queen & just for display , well that's some thing else . Make them repair it cosmetically . Other wise ,just have fun shooting her. Not being a smart a$$. Is this your first AR ?
  11. I moved it to the mid. of the rail & like it better , will have to shoot it in that position . unforgiven With a scope on her , I can at least keep a group @ 100yrds with the Fed. True ball , with the smooth bore, no where near like the 2" groups with my 870 Mag. ,with Hastings rifled bbl., with Hornady's SST's though. This RDS is a little different , may need to get used to it
  12. You didn't microwave it & try to eat it did you ? <lmao>
  13. The Votex is going to a good home on the wifes ar15 ( if she likes it ). The Vortex is getting a trial by fire in Ohio, for Deer gun season this year. It's my back up slug gun & others may use it . I usually take a different firearm every day , handguns included, I like variety. 100 yrds will be more than max yardage for a smooth bore , even though the Fed. True ball slugs are outstanding . I'm going to play around with its mounting tonight .
  14. Was in there once , maybe twice , when I first moved here . I work in downtown Jax & live 20 miles south of it . Haven't been in there in years .
  15. Kinda figured it was move it to work . I have shot it & sighted it in, but I kept closing one eye, ARRRRRRRRRRRRR ! <laughs> @ 25 - 30 yrds , it was dead on & after that it s may be my old eyes , with glasses , but the groups get , ( in my opinion ) big . @ about 90 yrds , they hit the area of the target & I kept them with in a 24 x 24 " square. Of course this is with a smooth bore slug barrel, with Fed. True Ball slugs, off a rest . Maybe I expect too much.
  16. Nice , I missed them or it .
  17. Just a couple of weeks before my hunt week in Ohio's deer gun season .I can't wait, the only vacation I usually take every year. I'll be hunting Guernsey CO. area. ARE you ready , Hell, after the first three days of rain , last year , I'm ready for anything .
  18. Jgun I put the Fiber Optic front sight blade on & man is that nice . I will take a photo at the range this weekend. Where were these sights when I first began handgun hunting ?
  19. A gas check may work ,properly sized, depends on the barrel .
  20. You have a DPMS 308T, right ? There is a measurement around here some where for the right rail heights of the DPMS AR Rifles , that measurement will tell you what rail height of a hand guard will work for ya. Normal hand tool's will accomplish almost all replacement needs ., Unless you buy a hand guard that requires the removal of the barrel nut or a screw on hand guard that is the barrel the barrel nut , you may need a vice or something to clamp a vice block for the upper receiver for there removal . Bill has done some good work on my triggers. Go to Brownells web sight & they have video's on just about every thing on AR's.
  21. Ok , I've used one once, to shoot a Deer with a cross bow , but that's it .That's my history with them , I bought & mounted a Vortex red dot sight on my 1100 Remington shotgun . Its on a saddle mount & I'm not sure where it should be mounted as far as ,how far should it be from the face to the sight for clarity ? Its there a rule of thumb or some kind of measurement to go by .
  22. Yes , we need prof before our eyes or you don't own one . <dontknow>
