you can buy lr-308 for less than 1000. no its not the top of the line, but it is useable. i'll have little more than a grand in mine when done because of stock and optics.

I have to dig up the spec's I've never seen one fire at that hi rate but it what I was told they could do. I stand corrected on the 7.62 X51 ge mini gun cycle rate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minigun

some of this read is good . but I think something has been left out.you can do everything that this article recommended and have a 8lb trigger that is rough to pull and everything else is a waist. In My world a good trigger stands as the #1 improvement that can be done. but I shoot for fun not for a living

this past year was when I started to use bullets that were not cast. well hot and heavy use. loading for 5.56 and 7.62 I wanted something consistant. i enjoy hitting the target, not just going out and burning up powder. not to say I wont run a mag thru my 5.56 tactical. or practise double taps on 45 and 9. learned how to shoot moving targets with tire's being rolled down hill will carboard in center. have never loaded the first shotgun shell, I've seen it done. but I have not done it yet. Use a old Lyman I bought for 10.00 maybe 25 years ago a lee pro 1000 for 9mm. and wish for a Dillon 550b. i still have a box of CCI 550 small pistol magum primers that have price of 1.99 on box. now they are around 30. per 1000 plus shipping if you dont go to the gun shows

Multi Caliber Designated Lowers and The Law
308reloaded replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
but:: the ATF is known for doing stupid things, so this could be just another law that will be used against gun owners. could the white house do something like this with presidential order? worst case for me is I no longer buy multi cal lowers, as everything I build is in NATO caliber anyway.any The multi cal receivers I already have can be replaced easy enough . if this type of law is enforced, it will be just to harass legal gun owners as I cant see how it should be useful and serve a real purpose. what real good does it do for something like this to be enforced, other than control the masses. I wonder how many LEO weapons are marked Multi-Cal. I am betting more than just a few. the whole idea of this type of law just gets me mad, -
hornady one shot case lube is great but I don't like aerosol spray cans I use RCBS case slick because I like using the pump /no aerosol and I have some frankford arsenal case lube but have not used it yet. bought it because of price and size

did you start because you wanted a more accurate round or because it was a way you could afford to shoot more. me becuse it was the only way I could afford to shoot. we didnt just reload we also cast our own bullets, which you dont here much about in rifle's not days.. buy pistol. I still cast wheel weights got 9mm 38 sp/357 and 45acp round nose

there is not trick to it get a wife who actually is your Friend and the rest is easy I got 31 yrs. and I would sell every weapon, hell everything I have for her. and she knows it.. that is the the so called trick. many years ago I bought a large gun safe and she could not see all that space going to waist so she has help fill it. and she loves full auto MG's we used go to knob creek national machine gun shoot regularly when we were younger

Multi Caliber Designated Lowers and The Law
308reloaded replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
I am sometimes mentally challenged , could someone please tell me if this means my 3 multi cal lower receivers are no good? my spikes tactical lower/upper complete weapon that keeps me warm and safe at night is no good anymore. AND... Does this mean that the companies that sold us those multi cal lowers were breaking the law / ignorance is no excuse. will I Have to decomission these terrible things and buy new with Cal. laser etched on them my barrels do say 5.56 1-9 twist Can we have the cal. laser etched on them? -
anyone ask any of the people who make AR barrels but not AR10 barrel if they would.. like dez arms. veery good barrels for the ar15 but they dont list any for 308. would a call get them to make custom barrel???? I am going to try

Case tumbling with brasso cleaner media mixed ??
308reloaded replied to KS Shooter's topic in Reloading
we just use dish soap and let dry natual over night. I never get in a hurry when reloading -
I just showed this post to my wife, she rolled her eye's and walked out of the room.
-
those are both good reloading press's but I would also check out this http://www.dillonprecision.com/ 550b
-
thanks for info.. I tried a accu-wedge and saw it would need trimmed to fit. but I like the tension pin idea better.
-
muzzle brakes are good keeping muzzle climb down so a follow up shot will be or can be faster. but they also seem to make weapon LOUDER. and in 308. that LOUD will hurt. a flash suppressor does not IMHO reduce recoil at all. I would also buy a thread protector so you can shoot without any muzzle attachments
-
I curious as to what you anticipated this would cost.. you can build for less than a 1000.00 you can buy already built for that also. you stated in previous post 1200.00 that can be done easy. remember you want your battle rifle to be able take punishment also, in battle you may have to introduce someone to the but-stock so choose something that will take abuse, make sure your barrel is strong enough to take the abuse also. that way when you have to fix bayonets you wont be bending a light weight barrel. or worry about warping during a short firefight
-
my dpms upper and lower arenot what you would call a perfect tight fit. how many have to use the accu-wedge on your builds.?
-
you really dont need anything on end of barrel to shoot hogs.
-
hope you enjoy your newest addition to the family, but you should know that the smaller ones can be costly also, maybe cheaper to feed but they also can eat more.
