  2. Shepp i started my work career in 1970 as a wine salesman...I had just turned 21 and was the youngest guy there...the other salesmen gave me their crap accounts to make my territory....well, boone's farm came out and so did MD20/20.....those crap accounts they gave me became serious accounts because of those brands..... my buddies who became cpa's and such couldnt touch my salary....if i remember correctly I was making between 1400 and 1800 a month back then..........wait a sec....hell thats more than I make now WTF? :) Wash

  7. 98Z that was a fun time with him....Brian is a super nice guy ..when he left us to go sign autographs the line wrapped around the aisles and when we saw him signing he was in his "pigman" character...cuttin up with the people The question is....What did I turn this girlie girl into? Sheesh....she had a bagful of hunting brochures on the table at home planning a Fall hunt....lol :) Wash

  13. Ma just for you <lmao> Wash
  14. Gibbs you said Taking these things into account, there are very nice .308 rifles out there in the AR platform that do exceptionally well with 1:10 twist and 4 or 6 groove rifling. They are, after all, somewhat designed for battle rifle conditions and as such if you look for extreme accuracy, you are better at looking at bolt action .308 over the gas operated semi autos like the AR series. The barrel I have is not really bad at all. I have been able to get a group at 100 yard of 0.366" using 150 gr Hornady SP bullets non BT with molly coating. I just think it would be (my opinion) a nicer shooting rifle and a bit easier on brass for reloading if I had a mid length gas system barrel on it outstanding grouping at 100 ! you answered your own question though...outstanding accuracy equals bolt action.....So why dont you try a rainier arms ultramatch grade barrel for your ar platform?.....they come in a middy and they are 6 groove and guaranteed to shoot sub moa....these are not bhw made barrels so you are plus one on the groove... not to worry :) Wash
  15. Gibbs after talking with a barrel guru......its all Bullcrap...in the 5r catagory...everyone does it different.....The real "Gibbs" would give you a headslap <lmao> Wash
  16. Gibbs most barrel makers use the Greenhill Formula and it all has to do with the bullets bc whatcha gonna use the rifle for? :) Wash
  17. Adam I think you only lose 50 feet per second from going to 16" from 18"..... at 500 it still puts the smackdown on the target...... as for kick...a lil girl can shoot a 16" ar308 :) Wash
  18. Gibbs Ive got a 5r 308 in 16" and three that are poly from Rainier.....all four shoot moa out to 500 so, I say go for it.....the poly's that come from BHW are the select barrels....the match grade dont come from BHW :) Wash
  19. Adam you are gonna be closer to 10lbs with scope no mag......the 8.39 without scope may not be right here's my 16" built light with scope no mag :) Wash
  20. Okie Dokie here's a pic close up of the Apex....Robo is right on....this baby hooked up good to the upper and weighs less than my others this one weighs in at 9lbs rifle, scope,no mag :) Wash
  21. Yep I forgot to tell N2 that....I cant keep up with all my stuff :) Wash
  22. N2 you have a fairly heavy rifle right now... you can use a Troy or Sampson they are nice...got a bunch of Troys, and have put a Sampson on a buddies ar15,but the Apex will prolly be the lightest...I know my Apex is lighter than my Troys.....while you're at it...put a lighter shorter barrel on it....lol :) Wash
  23. Welcome from Big D :) Wash
  24. Hi Stogie Welcome from Texas thank you for you service! :) Wash
  25. N2 ive got both types....never had a problemo with a clamp on type..the apex will grip the barrel nut real good...you dont plan on going into combat on a daily basis do ya?....lol go with one that floats your boat...all I know is that the apex is light and well machined and easy on your hand....always think weight...the ar308's can get heavy on you real fast :) Wash
