So me and my best friend went back to the 500yd range (topgunshooting) it was only 102 degrees, but the 1 mile an hour wind made it sooo much cooler! He was finishing sighting in all the ar's we had put together....he's a real shooter....one of the ar's was from 1992 and never been shot :) the 308's...one of which had never been shot....and he wonders why he cant hit crap past a 100....lol But my story is the Nikon m-308 on two 308's....so ive put bout 60 rounds down each pipe, and have come to believe this is the scope for me...once zeroed at 100 the substensions were accurate out to 500...no turret twisting no nothing....im not gonna say you can hit a bull at 500 ,but im pretty sure I could harvest with it Im gettin rid of all my Monarchs with higher power...I a/b tested against a 8x32x50 Monarch ED and the m-308 does better for me....im glad I proved this out to myself btw...the privi 168 match is a nice round...if theres a better round for the money somone please lemme know :) Wash

Hi never had a prob with my troy's and the clamp,but the Apex is sweet ...it locks up great...put a Sampson on a friends ar15 and it was threaded no clamp on...check into the sampson 308 it should be thread on too :) Wash

Now your'e smokin ! hickory and brisket is perfect...so,did ya get the smoke thingy worked out? one more thing....brisket is the hardest thing to smoke and have it come out good...took me more than several brisket smokes to get it right......gotta have a thermometer to check internal meat temp 195/200 is what you are wanting... time wise....Char always tells me...its done when its done :) Wash

after all that you should be gtg.....but did you-mess with the gas tube receiver on the carrier itself? if you did....theres a one in a million chance the carrier holes are mis aligned with the gas tube receiver on the carrier :) Wash

Hey Sketch...so did ya read up on a plan for your smoke pot? mesquite chunks could be good or bad for you....its real strong ,but since you are doing a smoke pot thingy it may be whats needed ,but I would get Hickory or or Pecan if you can find it...just goes better with brisket mesquite is an acquired taste...kinda like scotch....lol :) Wash
