I hope I can convey what happened in the gun store today....it was a crazy azz with me coming close to getting thrown out of the gun store while winning an arms tugging event with a big punk azzed employee of a fancy shmancy gunshop Its a long story ,so here goes I bought another 8.5 inch 300 blkout barrel from BearCreek and happened to see where they had an upper, charge handle, and bcg for 99 bills....daaamn better get this. So, then I ordered everything I needed but a lower which ill get here....order comes in from Bearcreek and the upper was a sidecharge cnc upper, and a sidecha.rger bcg....hmmmm do I keep it and go ahead and build a sidechargeer ? Hell yes ! Im ready to build today, but I need a lower....lets go to the fancy gun shop cause they will have a big selection ,and ill be able to fit my upper to a lower.....cause this upper is CNC and fat at the rear. Me and Char are at the back counter where the lowers are lined up...so much for selections all Spikes and one Anderson....Young crew cut butt lick walks up, and I ask if he has any other lowers ? Nope all he has is pretty much Spikes...so I have the upper on the counter....putz takes a Spikes out and hands it to me And im asking if I can test fit... he sez no way cause it will mark the lower, and at that time he grabs the lower while ive got it....and I have the better grip as he"s trying to pull the lower away im telling him im not going to even get them close... I just wanna look at them together....and he's really muscling up but Ive got the better grip and ive already locked down on it... and ive now got the lower close to the counter where the upper is...as hes' really pulling Fukkin A So now he 's telling me that I might have to exit the store if I keep this up...no crap.... Fuk that young punk.....hes got me pissed and Chars telling me to quiet down ......now he's really pulling away from me ...but he cant budge....this is getting crazy Haha....now he's saying to me that I need to exit.....Nah...aint gonna happen.....so I let go....too funny...I mean funny I said I think we will take one of these .....He sez it wont fit.....Look here fool I bet it will.....I then tell him you know what? I aint buying this lower, but my wife might..yep Char you need this for your build......He marches us over to the paperwork desk and gives Char the form as she whips out her carry license...that shuts the fukker up....Char pays...and I stick my hand out and shook his hand....bye weak azzed store boy Wash

Hey Adam This is what I do on every build.....hold your upper with the muzzle pointed down....take your bcg only...and insert it till just the front is inside.....then while muzzle is pointed down let go and let it drop......the bcg should go just about go into battery on a new build...if it doesn't or it stops then look at what the problem is. When you go to the range be sure you are lubed up real good.....also im not so sure you have the gas block squarely over the gas port hole....do the ol Wash muzzle BJ.....with the bcg out....gb loosened up.....plug up the chamber with lil finger or bullet wrapped in Kleenex......have the muzzle device off too...unless your a pro like me....and blow into muzzle while moving the gb around...you will find out the right spot to tighten it down....im thinkin you need to back away a bit from the ridge....maybe a credit card thickness....after doing this go have a smoke and relax or you could you compressed air....in that case forget the smoke. If after doing this and using the regular ol DPMS type spring it should cycle using the one round method ,and having the bcg lock back. did you lube up the buffer/buffer spring too? like I said in the beginning you are undergassed for that orange spring. If you need to drill out to a bigger port....get you a wooden dowel for the inside of the barrel.....the dowel will protect the barrel from the bit hitting the other side...easy peasy to drill you don't even need a drill press....barrels are soft...... Wash Well I see you have it going...Good for You !

Sweet shovels brother ...never seen those......So I ordered another bearcreek 8.5 pistol in 300 blackout...48 bills and they shoot moa...lol...so I ordered a bearcreek upper, bcg, and charge handle for 99 bills.....Im thinkin that's a decent price for this combo Wash -
HOLY CRAP the motherload of dillo dust.....I know theres a story to having this.....you might have to send it to me for proper storage Wash
-
you got that right ! find you some privy match 168 once you get it running......shoots almost like the Gold does for a lot less Wash
-

-
Yeppers might as well ...Wash
-
Adam you are close to running... if the regular buffer spring doesn't get you there...then its drill time..which is no biggie ar all....have you got a numbered drill bit kit thats in the 40's/30's ? Wash
-
Adam here ya go https://www.primaryarms.com/dpms-308-carbine-buffer-spring-11-5-inch-dp308-cs-10a if you get the midway just be sure its 11.5 inches Wash
-
Adam You are too undergassed to be running the orange Sprinco.....run you a car308 ar plain o spring first.....then go from there...if the stock car spring doesn't work for ya then start looking to drill out the gas port....getting the long gas tube will also help.....easy things first....grab a stock ar 308 car spring and try it first before going off the rails......if you look at the Sprinco website they state the orange spring is for seriously over gassed 308's...I don't think yours is overgassed at all....also do this...with the rifle empty and the bolt held by the bolt catch....pull the bcg back further...you should have a 1/8th inch of play or so until it wont go any further back. I have several 308's where I use the orange spring heavy buffer combo.....only after finding out they were very overgassed...... Wash Now that I see the pic of the casings......You are undergassed for sure.......they should be coming out with authority not just to the bench like I see.....And lube that bcg up real good too !
-
Adam the Sprinco orange spring is a spring I use in some of my pieces.. BUT its for overgassed rifles and it is to be used only after you have the rifle running on a regular 308ar car spring.....for one that's why it wont cycle on one round and two that's why its so hard to charge....you don't start with an orange Sprinco......you are undergassed with that spring......use a car ar308 spring first to see where you are at....your buffer tube should be 7 inches long measuring the inside of the buffer..... and lube up the bcg more than you have it...your buffer is the correct length..You Need to turn the buffer tube some more...one more turn.........Always one round check to see if it holds back.....you wont get it to cycle with that Sprinco Orange spring.....unless your port is opened up.....so if it doesn't cycle with a regular ol spring then its time to measure the gas port ....Wash
-
So you are using an A2 rifle stock with it? Wash the working combo I use for car stocks is a 7 inch (ar15) inside length buffer tube, car DPMS buffer spring ,and a 3.5 inch car 308 buffer
-
Hey Steve Welcome aboard ! So the bcg wont go back but 2/3 of the way hand cycling ? my first thought is a wrong buffer/buffer spring.. if the bcg wont go back.... so we need more info...what length buffer do you have in the buffer tube? Its a car stock ? Wash
