  1. I did the shoot, clean with ProShot Copper Solvent, polish with JB, shoot clean with ProShot Copper Solvent, polish with JB, shoot.....and on and on for the next 7 hours.... This has been my way for most of my rifles and has worked well for me. Use a good bore guide and rod you will minimize damaging your barrel or impacting accuracy. This is usually one of the few things most of us can agree upon. Past that its all over the place, to break-in or not to break-in, to clean or not to clean, to oil or not to oil, and on and on....... :o
  2. I'm a big fan of old school Arkansas stones. Some of my stones have been in use for 70+ years. They are mild on the blades and work very well on all of them, kitchen, hunting, woodworking......

    New to ARs

I like my AR rifles but love my 10 FCP HS in .308.......dont think I could ever trade it in....
  4. I got the 2 cylinder Mercury running two weeks ago and the 4 cylinder rebuild was completed last night.

    .308 vs. 7.62

Keep with the 7.62 in your gun. American Eagle has a load made for the M1A that is 7.62X51. This round has performed well in my DPMS 7.62 barrel. I am a firm believer in following the instructions from the folks that build the equipment.
  6. Vortex will give you the most for your money. I have them on 9 rifles chambered in 5.56 to 300 Winchester Magnum. You can find them with any feature or configuration you need and prices ranging $99.00 to 2500.00
  7. Nice, I haven't been out to the track in a year now. We would go out to help Hanna Motor Sports with their jet cars. There is nothing like standing next to a J-79 jet engine when it come to life My father-in-law drove funny cars and the wife was drag racing at 16. This early experience explains her driving style now. I keep telling her its just a Honda and you're not on the track.....
  8. Scioto River in Columbus. I use it for testing repairs.....its shallow enough in most areas if I have a problem I can walk the boat back to the ramp :o
  9. 1963 Mercury outboard motor...the question is asking what is on order or in the mail.....
  10. Timing belt, carburetor rebuild kits, fuel pump kits, points, condensers, water pumps, and lower end seals.
  11. I'm an engineer by trade and cant stop tinkering with stuff so the boats will keep me busy for some time. The primary reason was for her, we have 5 more months of chemo and she was already having issues getting in and out of the canoe.
  12. I made a good choice...
  13. But I found a 1958 18' Glasspar with a 1958 Mercury Mark 75 attached to it. The guy said the boat was his father-in-laws and was put in the garage many, many years ago. It's a solid vessel and the motor looks great!. It also came with a trailer, 1990's 10 hp Mercury motor, 1963 15' Starcraft boat with trailer, and a 1963 Mercury 500 (in cloud white). The great part of the deal is the Mark75. Do a youtube search for "Mark 75/78" to hear one idling and running wide open. Then look at "1958 worlds fastest outboard"......... Happy guy!
  14. Happy Birthday....she sounds like a keeper

    37/40 mm Launcher

Brownells has a Dewey cleaning kit that expedites the cleaning of burnt marshmallow out of the barrel. Anyone reloading this caliber? There is one website I have found that has information on this but I’m looking for more information.

I have spent some time fishing just south of the "Y"....... Zanesville is in "Section C" they will let a person harvest up to 18 deer (Archery, Gun, and Urban permits) this year. If you go to the ODNR website they have some photos of the hog some folks have taken in Zaleski State Forest.

  22. I like the Hornady SST for my semi auto's. The bullet has a cannelure for doing a roll crimp. For my bolt guns, I will go to the extent of metering the neck tension.

    Just two months

Two months until the start of hunting in Ohio ;D As much as I enjoy hunting varmint's, I am looking forward to hunting something thats good on the grill. With the wet spring and summer we have been having I would imagine there will be an abundance of critters.
