24" 1-11" twist rate I put together the lower. The upper is almost done but the free float rail I am trying to install is too long. I put a mid-length Magpul on for the time being. I also have an adjustable gas block on and a PRI brake which are installed. Pics to follow.

Can you make the rail out of plastic to keep the weight down to under 20 lbs ???????????

Got it back today. Had it Magnetic Particle Inspected, and coated. Started as a McGowen SS blank 24" long with fluting. I had the infamous 11* job done. Here are some pics , I'll asemble the rifle this weekend. I have an AGP lower I can put together. No money for optics though . I'll get some parts out of the parts bin and do something.

I started off with a Ruger 22 revolver then a Ruger blackhawk. I had a FN 49 in 9mm. Then two Springfield XD-40's , next was a Kahr CW9. My favorite is a EAA Witness Carry in 10mm, nice gun awesome cartidge.

Action Arms .41AE ... Goes from a 9mm to .41AE with just barrel and a mag change. EAA 's Witness series also does changes with just a barrel and mag. This is a high quality gun line. (Bias opinion) ;D Glock 21 to .460 Rowland with a kit but its more extensive than just a barrel and mag change. Or you could buy the Ruger 1911-22 and a 1911 in 45acp and have two guns !

Hornady 155gr A-Max #30312 for 1-14" or faster twist barrels. The next best is 155gr Scenara but this is a long bullet.

I made a batch with 800X for my 40 S&W . Used 1X Win brass,WSP and Hornady 180gr XTP. One round each starting a 5.9gr and worked up a tenth of a grain to 7.0gr. Max load was 6.1 , 6.2, and 6.3gr in three different books. I dont plan on shooting over 6.5gr out of my handgun. Will use this powder to develope a load for the AR pistol caliber gun.

Ok guys, I got a box of Hornady Z-Max bullets (500) for my birthday and I bought another pound of the Imr 8208 XBR powder today. I put together a .223 load for the 50gr bt/bt with Win WSR and 25.4gr of XBR in 1X lake city brass. I got 278 rounds out of it. The bullets are really high quality, like V-Max but with a different tip. I'm not buying into the whole Zombie BS but I aint knockin' free lead. Glad I had 1200+ 223 brass already processed waiting for lead and powder.

I purchased a pound of Imr 800-X after reading up on it on Glocktalk and Snipershide. I was looking for a load for my 10mm Auto that would have a higher velocity without too much of a pressure spike. The concensus seems that CCI 300 or CCI 350 primers are the ticket to keep the pressure down. My goal is to have the old school (pre FBI) speed. The first batch I made with Hornady 180 gr XTP ,Win WLP and 8.7 gr of 800-X {15 rounds}. The second batch has Hornady 180 gr XTP , Win WLP and 9.0 gr of 800-X {12 rounds}. I expect to have velocity of 1200 fps and 1250 fps on these loads. I would like too work up loads up to 10.0 gr and have a speed of 1400 fps. I attached an old load sheet from the early 90's. Plan on going shooting this weekend and trying out these loads.

[Case Damage] What part is crushing the cartridge?
MikedaddyH replied to a topic in General Discussion
I have had this problem with low power {starting} loads during load developement. As the pressure of the load increased the brass deformaties vanished. Like Terry stated opening the gas port may solve the problem, but check your loads first. Once the gas port is open the next bandaid is an adjustable gas block. Buffer Spring changes and Buffer weight change are other options you will need to play with to dial in the ejection. Are the shell casings exiting at 3 o'clock ? If not , where?? Are they landing in a pile? or all over the place ?? Too much pressure or not enough. I am doing the same type of T & E with the magnum AR, so I get it. -
Project Titan ...1st person shooter video game...Hmmmmm ! I hope that won't be a problem.

308 "Lite" Bullets Under 150 gr . Carbine Reloading
MikedaddyH replied to TenRingKing's topic in Reloading
Did some loads with light weight bullets and was not impressed with the 100gr and the 110gr at all ! I'll be saving the rest of those bullets for the 300blackout loads. I did like the 125gr ballistic tip bullets (green tip) Nosler hunting and the (white tip) Accubond. Other than the 147gr FMJ which is a great plinking round I cant help you much. -
Do an AR pistol but be original and use a different caliber. The .223 isn't that impressive and you might be disappointed. Why don't you try a 9mm ,40s&w ,45acp ,6.8spc or a 300blackout. Not sure if the lower has to be registered in WA but it should be marked "ar pistol". It must have a pistol buffer and can not have a vertical grip. Don't go shorter than 8.0" , 8.5" or 10.5" is a nice length. Make sure you get a F/H comp or Brake that throughs the pressure forward. Last :shop around you should be able to build one for under a $1000, $1200 with a chrome BCG. Or buy an upper from Olympic or another company for under $800. I have two in 223, I built one and the other is an Olympic upper.
