  1. Used to go to the Rotory Airshow at Paine Field ,Wa. The Blue Angles, Thunderbirds and The Canadian Snowbirds were the main show. As a teenager,me and several of my freinds would float on Silver Lake and watch the airshow on our backs near the end of the runway. Closest I was to a pair of F101's was when me and my best friend where sitting on top of a mountian and they few by at 50 feet over our heads at 500+ mph. Felt the heat !
  2. I went to a lot of airshows when I was a kid with my stepdad. He and his partner went through a bunch of single engine airplanes. We even built an experimental airplane in our garage from a kit.
  3. As stated above an Armalite buffer spring is more heavier a spring rate, this will help. Also tungsten weights can be swaped out with the steel weights that are inside of your buffer. I have done this with AR15 platform guns to slow down the rate of fire. Lead shot is not the answer.
  4. The price of a mold is around $40k + ,and if you dont get it right the first time it cost at least $5k to make a fix. My friend makes a 12 rd 12 gauge mag for the Saiga and it does work well. One off metal mags are the only viable solution for prototyping any plateform for a new gun. Tha Akdel shotgun will sell like crazy once someone makes a smooth functioning mag !
  5. Sorry I jacked another thread, But I didn't think it through enough. When you mentioned the 12 ga shot gun the Saiga 12 just came to my mind. Too bad the AA12 isn't avaliable to the public. The AKDEL 12 is another gun I haven't seen or played with ,pictures dont count.
  6. Saiga 12.... <thumbsup> 12 round AGP mag American conversion parts are a must for compliancy. Cool stock and ghost ring sights !
  7. Hmmmm ! Did I just do that. It won't last forever, though... OUCH ! But they have a good warrenty replacement policy. 6.8spc ammo is pricey $18 to $22 a box. Reloading is a must, but brass is hard to find. That is the drawback.
  8. Thanks for the heads up ! I have to check my stash, I bought a bunch of this type of Ranger ammo.
  9. Here are the pics ! Built it on Sunday.
  10. I picked up a used 20" .223/5.56 barrel with around 400 rounds through it for $95. Aero Precision upper, Plum Crazy lower, rifle length quad rail, Aluminum gas block and Magpul flip up sights. I have just under $700 into this build. Pics with follow.
  11. I like the Sierra Precision molded grip ! Just wondering when Magpul is going to introduce the Kung Foo Grip in OD green.
  12. You neglected to tell us what twist rate is on your rifles ? Some barrels like light bullets (150 to 155 gr ) some like (165 to 175 gr) others like (180 gr + ) . I am part way through a bullet test and my 20" DPMS likes 165 and 168 gr bullets. If I were to start the most logical thing to do would be to buy three boxes of bullets, a 155gr , a 168 gr and a 175gr then make up some loads and test them in each gun. You will find out quickly which rifles like what weight bullets. Take notes ! Good luck.
  13. The AR 270wsm build is done. It was a real PITA to fit the Magpul handguard on, there was a difference of <0.4" because I used a Delta ring setup. Had to modify the front of the top rail to fit the gas block. Hope to get out by Thursday to shoot, its suppose to rain thur Wednesday. Still need to soak the BCG in oil for a couple of days.
  14. ....the 308 is a lil more intense than the .556 or 6.8...heck you can kill somebody with just hitting em upside the head with the bcg <laughs> Wash This is my favorite quote yet !
  15. Wash, Nice gun ! Now you can build one for yourself. This one seems to be claimed by your better half.
  16. WHAT ! Another Snowbird !
  17. Yeah they work, but are they worth the extra price for 5 more rounds. Now that is the real question. Touched them, loaded them, shot them. <thumbsup>
  18. JGUN, I agree ,but want to see a picture of the bolt catch in the lower receiver.
  19. Unfortunatly you may need a finish chamber reamer.
  20. That is just a sad state of affairs. If you dont mind shipping charges. You could contact Quentin Defense in Gilbert AZ. Tom could give you quotes for the work you need done. They have the equipment needed to get the job done and right the first time.
  21. Hi, Can you separate the upper from the lower and take pictures of the lower with a loaded magazine in the lower ? Also can you take a picture of the bottom of the upper ? THX
  22. No , Kandy Brandy Wine with Metallic flakes in the clear coat ! Ok , I found a 4 oz can for $43.95 at tcpglobal.com. Here is another cool color. KF08
  23. LL, If given a choice I would buy the House of Kolor's brand - Shimrin Kameleon KF03 Silver to Green. It goes for $300 a pint but it looks so F'ing cool with the color change.
  24. Look at the two rounds the long neck does not feed the same as a 308.. Either the magazine ears need to be adjusted or the bottom center lug in the barrel extension needs to be ground down a little ,or both.
  25. It's not the size of the primer...it's how you use it. <thumbsup> Jon Some one else shoud have tried to work a Magnum comment in here, but a small magnum primer would make up any extra ingnition needed.
