  1. At first I thought SS was talking about Cool Whip.
  2. Yeah but how much is that in Troy weight?
  3. But they did an article bashing Hillary! Does not compute...
  4. Resale value. Not fun, not adrenalene, not off-road adventure. Resale value. Sounds like a Chevy/GM owner.
  5. Welcome from AZ!
  6. Can you get some pics Chase? Looks like it was a modified Mauser action, with a pivoting safety that was part of the trigger group. Two-lug bolt, with a plunger-type ejector. BSA also made a CF2 Carbine model, which had the stock of standard CF2 and barrel of the Stutzgen. They don't appear to be particularly valuable, even in very good condition. Not sure about sourcing a bolt. Numrich doesn't have any.
  7. If you are buying something that is mechanically a one-off or very limited production run, you don't care how much parts cost.
  8. Theft from an "at risk adult"?! Fuckadoodledoo man. In a past life I worked with "at risk adults" and, in my experiences being directly involved with such individuals, they are mostly state and federal "prohibited possessors" anyway. Those who weren't outright prohibited possessors (mental incompetents, violent felons) were feeble elderly persons, whose families should have control of the firearms any way.
  9. And the color...?
  10. Yeah...here in AZ. Back in Kentucky, it would be all my cousins.
  11. Welcome from AZ!
  12. Some very unique departures from the typical "custom" V-twin motorcycles:
  13. This is one I bring up to students...you are in a Walmart parking lot and forced to use deadly physical force to protect yourself. Suddenly, one of the witnesses yells "He shot cousin Bobby! Get 'em!" http://news.yahoo.com/video-arizona-wal-mart-melee-released-160657373.html Around here a couple of the Walmarts are in neighborhoods that have three or five generations of the same family living in them...with lots and lots of cousins. Do you have plans for removing yourself from a bad situation, which is rapidly becoming untenable?
  14. Welcome from Arizona!
  15. Thanks brother Rene. You are right...the other day a woman in a big black BMW rolled right into the intersection in front of me, didn't even tap the brakes. T-boned the dude in front of me. Nobody died but it happens fast.
  16. This should help with that mental image.
  17. Another islamic state plot...on domestic turf. Test and probe, probe and test...eventually they succeed. http://news.yahoo.com/kansas-man-accused-plotting-suicide-bomb-attack-170958240.html As we discussed before, be prepared wherever you go. They will hit somewhere.
  18. /\/\/\/\ <laughs> Oh man! What a different age that was. We had a wooden screen door on the front of the house...not like you see these days, it was solid with a screen on the upper half. Probably weighed 30#s or more. Came home with Mom, Dad, and brother after a summer monsoon hit and the door was hanging by one hinge. Sis opens the front door, Dad says something along the lines of "What did you do?!?!"
  19. It worked. Took lots of time to do quality machining. For what they charge for a Smithy Granite, you can get a very good lathe or very good benchtop milling machine. The 3-in-1 machines are a compromise either direction.
  20. As a few of you know Monday my friend Debbie died, widowing my friend Ed. Looks like this is going to be a major clusterphuck, with most everything in Debbie's name only. That means a long, drawn out probate for estate in AZ, a community property state. No will, no agreement for living on a relative's property, no agreement for payment for improving said property, and on and on. Like Dave says "It is a FACT 100% of humans die...you need a will." You also need Power of Attorney, instructions for what you want done after you die. Debbie was not under a doctor's care, this is a total blindside...one day she's here, the next she isn't. Could be you, or me, or a spouse/parent/child...to die or be left behind. Get the appropriate paperwork done!
  21. Yup...or a very generous three for $50k. I'd even be very generous with a "frequent flier" program...purchase trips into three storms, get the fourth storm free.
  22. Yeah baby! I'd like to do a business venture of buying a C-130, then charge storm chasers $20K to fly into hurricanes.
  23. D'oh! Lesson learned. By both of them.
