  1. My buddy's Dad, a deputy, got off duty and walked into a convenience store for a snack. While in there, someone came in to rob the place. "Freeze!" and perp turns and shoots with his .25, Dad drops him with a couple of .45acp rounds. While conducting the crime scene investigations, their sargeant said "What's that Bill?" A .25 bullet was stuck in his duty belt.
  2. And you guys wrecked it! But at least I have a new pistol out of the deal!
  3. One of the most famous LE shootings was here in Arizona, mid-late 80s. Call to a man with a gun, officer that rolled up put SIX full power .357 Magnum 125gr SJHP Remington High Velocity into the kill zone. Perp finally drops his gun and took off sprinting...for a block and a half. The autopsy reported each one of the six shots was lethal and SHOULD have been incapacitating on its own. Autopsy also showed the perp was clean...no drugs, no alcohol.
  4. Man are you on the wrong forum brother. <lmao>
  5. I was really hoping for more flak, as I'd already ordered it...so I could say: :stfu2: <laughs> Anyway...it's here!! Have to say it is pretty sweet little polymer pistol. It came with the regular 3-dot sights (plan on getting something different, so didn't want the night sights), three 17-round magazines, owner's manual, and another bicycle lock. Made in the USA! The two backstraps for the pistol, curved and flat, are held in place with a small flat spring held at one end by the frame. Insert a paperclip or other wiry tool into a small hole, depress the flat spring, and the backstrap slides off of the bottom of the grip. Slide the new one up until you hear a small "click". Both have a generous lanyard hole. While ejection is from the port on the right side of the frame, the slide lock and magazine release are both ambidextrous. Controls are low-profile. Unlike the typical cylindrical mag releases, these are teardrop shaped and well contoured. For me they are easy to depress with either my trigger finger or thumb (with the flat backstrap). With a "No reserve" auction very low and in the last 20 minutes, I took the bid at $331. $25 S&H, plus $15 transfer...pretty good deal for a $599 MSRP! Range report won't come for awhile...pretty busy right now.
  6. Number 19 reminded me of the .40 S&W.
  7. I agree with that...big holes open big holes. Whether you pull the trigger or not. This dude who trained me graveyard shift at a convenience store was relating his experience at being robbed at gunpoint. This dude took no shite off anyone, had a fiberglass axe handle with a steel rod down the center for "negotiations"...but he was an ex felon and carried no pistol. Said he turned around and there was a gun in his face, so he emptied the register. I kind of smirked at someone getting the better of him and told him I had a hard time seeing anyone get the better of him. In his strong Mexican accent, "It's not funny Jonathan! That thing looks like a phucking CANNON when you're on this end of it!" Same dude had a guy pull a knife on him. Axe handle right across the top of the melon...SPLIT, exit as a wobbly goblin and spurting blood EVERYWHERE. Police followed the blood right to the robber.
  8. Things are going to get lively again over there. Pretty soon to be over here.
  9. ANY obnoxious cat behavior gets a whistle from me...not a happy little tune whistle. The "Hey, there's Ballard on the other side of the flightdeck during flight-ops and I need him to hear me" whistle. Nips that crap in the bud REAL quick. Thumper would probably get the garden hose too...just for good measure.
  10. Another good, short read...don't get sucked into the "one-shot stop" myth. http://www.policemag.com/channel/weapons/articles/2013/01/stopping-power-myths-legends-and-realities.aspx#.U2QNdXPgD3A.facebook
  11. Yeah, some gear-pusher got me hooked on the Voodoo cases too! In that 42" I can fit my Elite Operator LAR-8, 15 loaded magazines, the Mossy 930 and 100+ rounds of buckshot in the boxes.
  12. Super-size EVERYTHING! 'Merica!

  19. So who has one of these beauties? Total overall package? Fun factor? Understand...these seem to have been released into an overloaded striker-fired polymer pistol market.
