  1. Very cool looking dog, Cleatus!
  2. I've had plenty of students with physical disabilities who couldn't manage a firearm in any other caliber. A friend's acquaintence has a similar health issue and carried a small 10-shot semi-auto, with which she dryfired about 1500 times a week, and shoots 100-200 rounds of live ammo a week. From the holster at 15 yards, she can draw and rapid fire all 10-shots, putting them in a golfball sized circle. Practice-practice-practice!
  3. White- unaware. Yellow- aware, the condition everybody should strive to be in at all times. Orange- alert, something may require your interaction. Red- action. Gray- automatic action, training takes over. Black- no good. I'm not second guessing what happened today, just advising everyone here that if you're in public it is best to be aware at all times, in yellow. I personally don't like going into places like Cici's Pizza as John Q. Public...they are LOUD, with lots of disctractions and high-traffic. Here in Tucson they are magnets for gangbangers...cheap beer and lot's of egos. I certainly wouldn't be eating there in uniform on shift, 10-7 (too close to white) or not. But that's me. What did that Marine say? "Be polite and treat everybody respectfully but have a plan to kill everyone you meet." This incident goes to the "Don't Need It Today" thread...either be in the mindset to save your life and those of your loved ones or don't carry. I've lightened up considerably since quitting corrections...but I'm aware that most of those wonderful people who were deemed unfit to live in society, that were arrested and testified against by the cops, are free and walking about among us.
  4. Mom's uncle was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge and later died from those wounds. Chosin was a major suckfest. Our men kicked some butt though!
  5. You got this part right. Like I said a few pages back, it will be used as fuel to say "EVERY returning war veteran is a terrorist at heart and must have their gun rights suspended." Watch.
  6. IMO those are all symptoms of the real problem: "nobody" has mental illness today, they're just going through a little trouble is all. Nothing some drugs won't cure. It is an arrogance that assumes previous generations had no compassion nor moral compass when dealing with batshit crazy people...and they are batshit crazy...when the opposite is true. Lock them up with other insane people. Worked for centuries. Somewhere along the way some doofus decided that locking insane people away was just as bad as lobotomies and shock therapy. Now society is reaping the reward for that thinking.
  7. Can't be said enough: PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR SURROUNDINGS!!!
  8. Pretty cool little photo essay. Just move your cursor across the photo and it will change from then to now. http://www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/ng-interactive/2014/jun/01/d-day-landings-scenes-in-1944-and-now-interactive
  9. We could take nearly every member of government on every level, elected or appointed, and put them in prison for the rest of their lives for violating laws which they themselves created. One major difference...they have paid enforcers. We do not.

    SKS

That was in '95 or so, when I had my FFL still.
  11. An elderly couple in their 80s and well settled in routine, were watching an infomercial one day about the new little blue pills. The husband gets up and starts getting ready to head out. The wife asks "Where are you going?" Hubby says "I'm going to the doctor to get me some of those new Viagra pills!" So the wife gets up, grabs her purse and shawl, and starts heading for the door. The husband asks "Now where do you think you're going?" And she says... "If you're going to start using that rusty ol' nail I'm getting a tetanus shot!"
  12. Very true! The Harley name used to do just fine on their own. <lmao>
  13. +1! Glad to hear you'll be doing a tactical shoot with the local PD too!
  14. This dude ROCKS!! http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/d-day-veteran-missing-nursing-home-3654573

    SKS

Hard to say. I picked up two Russians for $80/each. I now see people asking over $500 for Russian milled SKSs.
  16. A wife decides to spice up their boring sex life and buys a sexy outfit to entice her hubby...a see-through negligee, thigh-high stockings, with matching crotchless panties. Hubby gets home from work and finds a trail of flower petals leading up stairs, with a note to follow the trail. Following the trail, he opens the bedroom door to see his wife lying on the bed. Parting her legs, she says "Well Honey...would you like to come get some of this?" To which he replies... "Hell no! LOOK WHAT IT DID TO THOSE PANTIES!!"
  17. Bob was in BIG trouble after forgetting his wedding anniversary and his wife was seriously pissed! "Tomorrow morning when I go outside there had BETTER be a present in the driveway, that will go from zero to 200 in under six seconds!" she yelled at him. The next morning she got up and there was a small present box, wrapped with a bow sitting in the driveway. Confused she went out to get it and brought the package inside. Opening the package she found a brand new bathroom scale! Bob has been missing for a week now.
  18. That's nowhere NEAR enough! We have 20 years of my wife's stuff in 900 square feet...then I moved in and we had a baby. I find empty mags, full mags, bags of mags, boxes of mags, all over the place. Oh! I sold that pistol...better get another one to shoot that ammo off.
  19. And the numbers...reminds of that quote from the D-day movie with the German soldier calling his superiors..."Every ship in the world is off the coast!"
  20. And an interview to go with that Tom. http://foxnewsinsider.com/2014/06/05/hes-not-hero-6-bowe-bergdahls-platoon-members-speak-out
  21. Here's what you need Robo! http://www.forgottenweapons.com/guns-and-motorcycles-a-photo-essay/
  22. It is another step in the modularity of the lego-osity, in the Barbieization of masculine customization.
  23. I can see that point of view. I'm just trying to fulfill my obligation as an angry white male. :rant2:
  24. No soup for you!
