  1. http://www.dsarms.com/p-12346-fal-sa58-us-made-metric-pattern-5-round-magazine-legal-for-ca-and-nj.aspx http://www.dsarms.com/p-12329-fal-sa58-us-made-metric-pattern-10-round-magazine-legal-for-ca-and-nj.aspx I don't see a 3-rounder with them.
  2. Why not just get the DSA mags and forget the poly…for now?
  3. Welcome aboard, Jason…from Marana! (almost) Just got back from Marana Shooting Club a little while ago…when you coming out to shoot?
  4. Dead on doggy…dead on.
  5. It is the "Zumbo" attitude that permeates certain hunting cultures…remember how well that turned out for him? Here in Arizona, most are very receptive to hunting with autoloaders, especially those with standard capacity magazines of 20 or 30 rounds (law changed this year from 5 round limit) for those hunting in "high human and drug trafficking areas", i.e., the whole southern half of the state. IMO the same sort of "You're A Non-Sporting Imbecile" attitude is pervasive with trap and skeet shooters also. (actually the trap guys seem to look down on the skeet shooters with more snobbery) Show up with a nice Beretta O/U and you are in the club. Show up with a pump or semi-auto and you are a clueless sap.
  6. I got burned out on the hunting shows long ago, not so much due to the crappy gear they pimp out all the time but due to their crappy hunting ethics. Shoot a trophy buck (no meat concerns, as you said Magwa) and hit it in the ass, pats on the back all around for "great shot!" while they spend hours tracking it. Coming back the next day to find it isn't uncommon on those shows…if that's the deer they actually shot the day before.
  7. First thing I'd look at is what are they putting in the water? We absorb a bunch of crap through our skin. Then the food. One of the best things I've read lately, "Americans no longer eat food but eat food-like products."
  8. I'm sure you did...sure that you did.
  9. No problem...helps me work out my purchasing options. The threaded barrels on those Hog Hunters and the 10 FCP-SR may make for easy transtioning to sound suppressors later.
  10. Savage has been making guns I want for a really long time, so I've done plenty of research on them. Their Scout is a nice setup. At $150 less (or even more) than the Ruger GSR, it is an outstanding deal. Having worked with a scout-style scope setup a couple of times, it is VERY quick for acquisition on the target! One range trip and you will have it all figured out. The FCM Scout is nice IMO, as it is one of the few bolt-action rifles you can get with open sights still. Now...not too much different, have you looked at the Savage Hog Hunter in .308? Open sights, conventional scope mounting position...and a threaded barrel. Like the Scout it has the Accutrigger but not the Accustock. Been looking at those two models, the Longrange Hunter in .308 and .300WM, the 12 VLP DBM in .308, the 12 BVSS, and finally the 10FCP-SR with detachable 10-round magazine. I may damn well start collecting Savages.
  11. Another welcome from AZ, my LAR-8 brother!
  12. :laughing4: <laughs> <lmao>
  13. Girl next door time.
  14. Looks like she has two guns to me!
  15. Tom forgot to post his costume:
  16. She got the tip with the next needle.
  17. Good thing it is in Cali where they require bullet-buttons. Ok...ok ok. How about a push now to arm TSA agents, since their job is so very dangerous? This event is proof.
  18. Old school...
  19. Gotta be Steam Punk. But he still needs it!
  20. Wing-mounted 0.50s count, right? Right?!?
  21. Welcome SCAGNETTI!
  22. I did a lot of research on lead poisoning/contamination when the shooting club asked me to be on the board. For all the hype, the danger of lead contamination is almost entirely from lead additives in consumer products, rather than chunks of lead from bullets/castings/etc. Tests on Wyoming citizens showed that hunters eating game only had a few more lead ppm in their blood than did people who bought their foods. Both classes of Wyoming people had lead levels about 1/4 that of the general population of major cities like Los Angeles or Chicago.
  23. For what they both are, I liked the SKSs better.
  24. I find myself using the single-stage presses more and more. It doesn't take THAT long to load everything up and the quality is much more consistent. Those that have the Hornadys are happy with them.
