  1. Yeah...it was a group knowledge test. And that pic is still all the information we have on it. But it isn't an H&K. Jon
  2. He says something about being a government worker. Jon
  3. Very nice MG! Jon
  4. My understanding is the current administration will not allow any new refineries to be built...anywhere. One was supposed to be built in SW Arizona, but it got held up. A buttload of miles to the nearest refinery from the Dakotas, and ixnay on the pipeline. Jon
  5. That's a LOT of extra machining for bragging rights. Jon
  6. I can't find any info on it. First photo of Alexander Arms .338 Lapua semi-auto prototype. Jon
  7. <laughs> Shrubmaster! For the same price he paid for That Rifle That Should Not Be Named (TRTSNBN), he got a half-dozen extra mags, a case, enough ammo to fill them a couple of times (must've been RIGHT when the truck came in). I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Or I may have to buy a XCR-M. Jon
  8. I used something like that for my first Appleseed, and would recommend against using such a sling. Traditional is better! 2/3s of the way down this page is a great start: http://www.tech-sights.com Or the old standby: http://www.brownells.com/shooting-accessories/slings-sling-swivels/slings/competitor-plus-rifle-sling-prod1268.aspx?psize=96 I ordered that style for the 20" LAR-8, made of sorbothane and made by Turner Saddlery. The "little extra" that these types of slings I've posted offer is the ability to quickly detach from the rear swivel, then attaching directly to the upper part of your support arm. The ROCK SOLID foundation this gives you in prone is nearly impossible to communicate. The sling I used like the one you posted above did detach quickly and did fit over my arm, even allowing me to get into a solid position. But with the first shot of my .22 rifle, the nylon would slip. After insisting I was doing it wrong, the Appleseed instructor tried to demonstrate and, after getting the same results, said "Yeah, you're going to need a better sling." Jon
  9. Well I didn't get to go today. But my friend got to test out the ACR he traded for the POS Hogan H-308. I'm now meeting him on Friday and will have a range report...but here is what he sent me for his report. Jon I went to the range just to make certain the Bushmaster would work. I read the manual and did the safety checks and put the rounds into the magazine and loaded it and took off the safety and breathed and squeezed the trigger and the weapon fired. So, I looked for the jam, but there was no jam. I didn't know what to do next, so I sat there and thought and finally decided to try it again, and again it fired with no jam. I figured, "What the heck." and tried it several times and then five rapid fire and it still didn't jam. "What the hell am I supposed to do with all of the extra time?!"
  10. What?! I thought you were going back to get that TS pink 10/22 also? Robo...those 77/22s are WELL over $500 around here. Forgot about the Buckmarks! AND you can share magazines with your Buckmark pistols! Jon
  11. I, and Tom, WISH it was mine. We don't get this often but without a positive ID, Tom is wrong (insert Price Is Right bummer theme here). Tom wants one though. Jon
  12. If it is the middle one, that price seems high to me. I only paid a bit under $1500 for my Elite Operator, shipped and transferred. Jon

This lady I worked with in retail closed a Beretta on her palm. She's sharp, smarter than most gun guys and instructed more Boy Scouts than most instructors have taught people. Anyway, slide closed, her eyes got wide and everyone looked at her like "What?", because we couldn't see she was pinched. She couldn't close her hand to grab the slide again and was pinched too hard to yank free. Finally figured it out, after about 10 seconds. She wanted to but didn't cuss or anything. Jon
  14. I'm not an expert but I have owned a buttload of .22 rifles. Right now we have a Savage/Stevens 64F, their MKII FSS, a Ruger 10/22 in a Tapco T6 stock with a Timney trigger group, a Marlin 795 with the DIP trigger and floorplate/trigger guard and wooden stock, their model 39M lever, a Remington 572 pump, a Springfield/Stevens bolt-action, and a Rossi Youth Combo 410/.22 single shot. Of all those, I can't pick a favorite but can exclude the Rossi and 64F as choices for "top dog". Most are well under $500, and the 39 and 572 can be found for under that...if you shop. The 10/22 has its own sickness with accessories, much like ARs...there are literally thousands of aftermarket items for them. If you want something that shoots well, with a satisfying "Hey! I hit it!" accuracy with most any type of .22LR ammo, the MKII and 795 are hard to beat right out of the box! 10/22 is also but as soon as you get it, you'll be shopping accessories. Jon
  15. I just watched one of the Leno's Garage episodes with a different electric bike. They had added a gear box, and greatly extended the range. Another year or two...who knows. Jon
  16. Same here. Under a divergent flight path for both Tucson International and D-M AFB, railroad and interstate about a mile away. I can't sleep for crap though. Jon
  17. No wonder Cali is going broke. Let me ask the place that did my shirts and hats. Their minimum was $150. Jon
  18. First photo. Jon
  19. It should be on a Dane lower. <thumbsup> Jon
  20. All we need is an airhorn playing Dixie on the rail! Jon
  21. The XL and XXL for this bunch had better be "medium". Jon
  22. Vaguely...About the most accurate description I can give from anything posted on here is "BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY!!!!!!" Jon

I felt that in my thumb! You know it's bad when you smash your thumb in the bolt, drop the rifle, and the action keeps it stuck on your thumb. Jon
  24. http://www.motorcycledaily.com/2013/05/2013-zero-mmx-stealth-military-machine-developed-for-u-s-special-forces/ I want one! Jon
