  7. We have to stop using those excuses. While January 19th was a couple of weeks notice, February 8th was a month...plenty of time to plan and ask for work off. I've never worked for other people that were so lame that wouldn't let me have a day off with two-weeks notice, let alone a month. If the work is so imperative that it must get done at all costs, then the employer will let you make up that time over a couple of days. Been there, done that. Unless it is all just fluffed feathers and squawking, let's all squawk some more as we take our arms down to register them, then squawk some more when the order comes to turn them in, then point wing feathers when they get melted down. People will take off because their kid has a runny nose. I would think they would take off to prevent their naked child from being executed, body to be bulldozed into a ditch with hundreds of others. But maybe I expect too much of others. Jon
  8. Or it ended up on the crap-pile. Or it is so totally awesome they're hogging it to themselves. Jon
  9. Nice! I just ordered the pink and purple. Jon
  10. But I don't want one. I was eyeing a 700 BDL in .30-06 though. Jon
  11. There is a definate rift at that level...those that want knee pads and Pentagon duty, and those that want to have a kick-ass fighting force. Dad retired when they gave the 349th over to a Pentagon kissass that had never flown reconaissance a day in his life. Jon
  12. That's crazy talk, brother! Better go out and buy some Saran Wrap and duct tape for your windows! Obama: "How can we boost the economic numbers before we release the next report?" Advisor: "The duct tape and plastic wrap worked for Bush." Biden: "No, that won't work twice in a decade." Holder: "Tell them we want to ban guns after the next shooting. Should push the economy into at least a stagnant area." Is that conspiratorial enough? Jon
  13. Wasn't magazine fed or wasn't detachable magazine fed? Don't make me get the rat trap! <laughs> Yeah, they look like the Vanguards. Tried the mag in a Ruger Scout rifle...not the same. Never hurts to try. Jon
  14. Same here in AZ. We were in the 70*s today. :fawkdance: Jon
  15. Today at Sportsman's, not being distracted by multiple ARs and other blam-blams, I noticed that Howa also has a similar rifle...in .308! Jon
  16. http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/arizona/article_c81981a2-627c-11e2-95f7-001a4bcf887a.html We simply MUST attend the February 8th event! Jon
  17. Just got off the phone with Mikedaddy! Aren't making the rally today but both plan on rockin' the capitol in Phoenix on the 8th next month! We did a comparison of local retailers...bare bones pickin' across the state it looks like. Who wants to carpool up with me? Jon
  18. I hope everyone did a spur-of-the-moment run to their state capitol! Jon
  19. Like I said here when Devil Tom was pimping that Savage, I'm a stainless whore. Which is how I ended up with the stainless MKII, non-threaded by the way. It's contagious. >:D Jon
  20. It sounds like you're talking about the flip-up gasblock front sight on some of the RRA models. Any flip-up sights are backups (BUIS/Back-Up Iron Sights or MBUS). If you have your scope mounted on a quick detachable mount/rings, why worry about it? If you want to go the 45* mounting route for backup sights, then don't worry about the front gasblock flip-up...just keep using it as a gasblock. Or start shopping for low profile gasblocks. >:D Jon
  21. He may be starting to get it. Pretty sure that his puppeteer doesn't give a poop. Jon
  22. I'm sure our fine enlisted Army personnel are aware of the time-honored traditon of fragging. Jon
  23. What's the third...oh. The Savage that Greg needs buy a copy of now. <laughs> Jon
  24. <lmao> <laughs> Dinky dao! Jon
  25. Remember too, lots of the currently marketed self-defense/personal-protection ammo is specifically designed to NOT over penetrate! The video of the trauma surgeon talking about the overall ineffectiveness of ANY caliber handgun ammo should be mandatory watching for all of us. An emerging school of thought is to aim actual center mass, i.e., into the center of the pelvic region. Jim Cirrillo initially gave hints that this should possibly be training doctrine, reporting that on NYPD stakeout squad shootings they used to shoot the accomplices in the hip-region to prevent their escaping the store. Just food for thought, humans have some major artieries, veins, and nerves that fork off into the legs from the pelvic region. Many hand-to-hand fighting forms teach taking out the base (legs) of the opponent so they can't stand anymore. http://www.spw-duf.info/emperor.html#pelvis%20shots http://www.tacticalanatomy.com Jon
