I'm getting more pissed about this stuff. If somone is tweaking around with photoshop you deserve to be hanged. If not, we need to hang all the media and those calling for gun control, and hang these asswipes too. Jon

My pics are similar...but I got one of the smuggler's truck. <laughs> That BP was probably doing a drug pickup...didn't even want to know what kind of rifles we were shooting. Jon

Funny you should mention that, Rsquared. I'm seeing more and more items like this photo. Two-bit actors, paid to be "victims"? Cash in your 401Ks and invest in rope...some light posts need decorating if this is found to be true. Jon

That is true. It is also a failure of constitutional conservatives' tolerance of incrementalism, of "just a little bit for the good of the children/homeless/less fortunate". Churches were quiet when government stepped into their traditonal roles of charitable providence. Now when churches want to help, some douche bowl screams that religion is being shoved down their throat. How do you teach patient work and saving, to generations (at least 3) taught to "Build credit, buy it NOW, saving is for suckers!"? Needs being met is vastly different that needing the latest smartphone/game-system/big screen tv. How ingrained is this thinking? "Before you start off in the real world, Child, you need to be edumacated. It is expensive but you will be better off starting your solo-life with tens...if not hundreds...of thousands of dollars in loans, that can never be wiped out with bankruptcy and charge more interest than house or new car loans." As an FYI, this was considered to be a contributing factor to violence in places like Egypt, Syria, and Iran (prior to current festivities)...get a professional education but never a job, just work menial labor your whole life. Like everyone has the aptitude for a professional, white-collar job. Know what would be a great idea? Teach trades in highschools...carpentry, machine tools, automotive repair/maintanence, welding! Oh yeah...those programs were gutted and mostly expunged...in part by lobbying of legislatures/congress by trades schools and community colleges. Back to borrowing money at high interest rates to learn how to make a living. Jon

This big metropolis sucks. But at least I ain't gonna be in the SNOW up in Cochise County. Enjoy Tom! >:D Jon

That there is a dang good start! Saw your write up on FedEx too. Just send me the shipping number and a return label. I'll run 1,000 of my lead reloads through her and send it back for cleaning. That way Tom will get to dirty 'er up fresh! <thumbsup> Jon

...they talk, you SHUT UP! Got it?! http://bostonherald.com/news_opinion/local_coverage/2013/01/menino_veep_promised_him_fast_action_gun_control The decision has already been made on gun control. Write, call, do what you want...but if you aren't meeting with your shooting neighbors and discussing meeting plans and trainings, you may as well give your guns up. Jon

What do you have on order or in the mail?
planeflyer21 replied to imschur's topic in General Discussion
I ship fresh 4-ingredient tortillas (still uncomfortably HOT off the griddle!) to Kentucky, priority mail. Gets there in 2 days, tortillas still stretch. Jon -
Barska GLX 5mW Green laser
planeflyer21 replied to shawn9106's topic in Optics & Mounts, BUIS,Sights
Green lasers are temperature sensitive...like an ideal range between 40* and 87* before you start having issues with the laser staying "together". Jon -
Steve's a good guy. While formally retired, he will give anyone advice that contacts him. I was drawn initially to his writings for his stance on point-shooting. The crap lots of people teach about "If you're stressed out don't worry about a perfect sight picture, just focus on the front sight," is just that...crap. Even doing Airsoft force-on-force a person will see they are focused on the threat and the front sight doesn't even enter their mind. Plus he has dredged up lots on Fairbain & Sykes. Those dudes were some bad ASS old dudes! Jon

I've not formerly joined but have twice taken the oath, once for the Navy and once for corrections. You can tell we worry those in power, who think the oath is just something to say so that they can hang out with powerbrokers. Jon

Mikedaddy didn't say what the monkey was shooting out of the rifle. 2,800fps poo-pellets! Jon

Sign up for this email list: http://www.spw-duf.info/#list No charge. Steven routinely posts about BAD guys losing retention of THEIR own firearm, and having the former VICTIM use it against the bad guy. Why all this mythology surrounding bad guys taking your weapon and using it against you came about, was from a few (literally a few) law enforcement losing their sidearms and getting shot by truly evil mamba jambas. From this we got level I, II, and III retention holsters, S&W's stupid fricken' magazine disconnect safties (on what Col. Cooper called crunchentickers), and relaxed ROE for shooting suspects (rather than having to wrestle with an amped up meth head). Overlooked by those touting the claim that "If you carry a gun (sic) it is more likely to be used against you," is that law enforcement are required by their job to sometimes engage people who are irate/upset/drugged with physical force (opposed to deadly force). Grappling is part of the routine. The attempt at avoiding using deadly force has also led to the advent of mace/pepper spray and Tasers being commonly issued to law enforcement. The general public is not...your job is to live through an unexpected encounter (opposed to living through one to which you were dispatched). Our number one priority is avoidance...awareness level yellow at all times, pay attention to your surroundings and listen to that little voice...God put it there for a reason. That being said, how do you train? By standing behind a redline, carefully aligning the sights and squeeeeezing the trigger? Or escalating force-on-force with shoot/no-shoot possibilities? Can YOU access your pistol/knife/other OPW (On Person Weapon) with both hands? Can you access THEIR weapons? I'm hoping for the day when loaded rifles slung over the shoulder to even get a second glance. Jon

"Repeal the Second Amendment, the part about guns anyway." Gumptards don't come any gumptardier than that right there. Here's the reply page to dipwad's article: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/comments/article/20121230/OPINION01/312300033/Kaul-Nation-needs-new-agenda-guns Jon

Yeah. Back when I was working home health care, got to watch a LOT of cable. There was some BS program on MTV about "A day in the life" of common folks around the country. Ted harrangued, cajoled, and criticized until they did a segment on him hunting and shooting. The anchors/staff were NOT happy but they did give Ted a segment. The show was pulled not long after that. They don't have to listen to anyone nor has their past performance showed they will. IF they did pay attention to facts, others input, history, etc., Biden would stand up and say "We need to train every able bodied adult in the use of 'assault weapons', and basic hand-to-hand combat! This is the greatest country on Earth!" Anyone want to give me odds on him NOT saying that? Jon

A person can't tell me that the security guards posted to that job didn't have their name/address published by that same paper. Kinda like when working corrections..."Fight! That inmate that said he was gonna rape your daughter is getting his ass kicked!" <sigh> Stand-up...look around...yup...down on the ground now getting stomped...where's my radio...oh yeah! Silly me...same spot...is this thing on the correct channel?...better clear my throat..."Officer Jones to control"...is that his NOSE over by his EAR?!..."Control"...man, you'd think that guy's leg would be getting tired...not to far from the firehose...can hose off the sidewalk..."Control to Officer Jones! Go ahead!" :fawkdance: I wonder just what sort of threats the paper has been getting...or if they're just scared. Jon

Why? Where legal it should be with our rifles, in whatever condition we may legally carry them. Instead of having everyone trek to D.C., march on the federal buildings in your states. Administration and courthouses, not stepping on the property...just a show of force and solidarity. Jon
