  1. Welcome from AZ DCR375!! Jon
  2. A friend from NYC came out to Phoenix, we then went to another friend's house, about 50 NW of Phoenix. Us AZ boys were talking about it being hot, but not as bad as '89, and the dude from NYC said "Bullcrap! You can't tell me there is any difference between 114 it is now and 121 it was in '89! Once you are over 100 it is just HOT!" Jon
  3. Sweet! That SIG 210 has been on my list for awhile...congrats! Jon
  4. Well worth the wait!! If you have the sandwich sitting in front of you... Jon
  5. Next Father's Day Eve, I think I'm going camping, in the middle of a vast tract of Arizona where no one lives. When I wake up in the morning, I'll brew some coffee, load up Freedom Machine and Liberty, and blast of ammo throughout the day as I see fit. Jon
  6. Dreadnaught or Monolith. Jon
  7. <lmao> I always call my buddies on Mother's Day and say "Happy Mutha's Day to my favorite Mutha!" Jon
  8. A little gas leakage evidence is ok. Both my Mini14s and both M1As had a tiny bit around the gas block. Jon
  9. Happy Father's Day all you XY parental types! Jon
  10. Cave Troll. That thing slinging that club around was pretty intense. Jon
  11. Hey guys! Did you hear? Robo's getting a LaRue OBR!! Jon ;D
  12. Don't listen to them Edge! If you have room for a pool, you have room for your own fishing pond! Jon
  13. Krikey! $120 for an extra magazine?! Due to the rigidity of shorter barrels I don't think that the bull barrel is necessary on a 16" platform. For that price Robo, of the rifle, isn't there a .308AR on the market, with a 16" bbl, that will drill holes exactly where you put them all day every day, day in and day out? Jon
  14. Tom, while it depends on jurisdiction (and the person in the suit seeking charges), in most a justified shooting is justified...regardless of how tight the grouping is on the bad guy. The best reasoning I've gotten for opening up groups is more holes=more flows. I brought up the whole "You used too much force" argument to an instructor that was responsible for our diplomats' safty over seas. He said if called onto the stand and some <insert unmentionable name here> in a suit wants to tell me I used too much force, I'll tell him and the judge right there "How DARE you!! That piece of crap scumbag was threatening MY life, threatening to forever alter my family's life! And you will stand there and tell me I should be maimed or dead because they wanted a quick drug fix?! What gives you the right to tell me my life is worth less than theirs?" And I believe he would too. Above and beyond all I try to instill an understanding that people had better be able to demonstrate acting against a threat to their life or serious bodily injury. And that, even if justified, they can count on a hard time afterwards from a number of other sources. Jon
  15. Yup. I follow a group called Miniature Machine Tools on Yahoo. Most use desktop machines for crafting VERY detailed replicas of trains and ships. Others are into watch and clock building, down to every gear and spring. Check out Micro Proto dot com when you get a chance. Jon
  16. Wildley .45 Winchester Magnum! Again, high-polished for that sparkly mirror effect on motorists. Jon
  17. Here in AZ this time of year Seasprite, by the time you got the mag in the rifle, they would be up to 60* or more. Jon
  18. 392, we need a recording of you saying that last sentence in Lerch's voice, followed by his exasperated grumble. <laughs> Jon
  19. That is pretty cool! Then again, it isn't...slowly making more people unnecessary in the work place. Jon
  20. I've done quite a bit on CNC and manual machine tools, been priveledged to work on some real dandy projects. That being said, except for some very unique contracts my employers were able to obtain, most of the job is loading parts and pushing buttons. I've done quite a bit on the small manual machines, which I enjoy due to the challenge of set-up and not having access to the latest whiz-bang tooling. People will tell you they are inaccurate and incapable sub-par machine tools. To me these are very similar to the statements from shooters that feel they need a $5k rifle to hit a target a few hundred yards away, anything less turns them into an excuse factory. A friend that just completed the local CC's CNC program and I were talking about the 3D printers. For lack of a better analogy, the latest iterations basically squish out a hot polymer compound (sort of like a hot glue gun) over and over and over until it builds the part you need. They are pretty cool to watch, if you can find a video of it building something. Nevermind... Pretty intricate stuff! Probably won't be long before they have one that will squish out molten metal in any shape/form you want. Jon
  21. Dreadnaught sounds very good, IMO! Dora? Jon
  22. Since it is a fundraiser the candidate has left the decision up to the MG owner, whether or not a shooter may use their own ammo...but they will still charge (I just don't know the price difference). The Tommy Guns are certainly popular at these events! As is Walt's sound-suppressed MP5 and the Glock 18 (complete with shoulder stock), burping out 32-round mags. The last one I was able to attend, some guys donated some old motorcycles as targets. They made some cool targets for the BAR and RPK. Then they finally got the Ma Deuce set up. And the motorcycles caught on fire. Multiple times. This one will start earlier, with breakfast burritos, coffee, and juice, rather than the normal burgers and dogs. Bring it on!! Jon
  23. That's good unforgiven! I still hear old school cops tell people "Shoot 'em in the yard, then drag them across the window sill." Nothing like a murder charge stemming from an altered crime scene investigation. And remember...we shoot to STOP the threat. Because when you get sued for shooting The Father of The Year that volunteered at his church weekly (who just made a mistake!), the jury can live with you shooting to stop the threat. As soon as you say "I shot to KILL!" their minds see you as blood-thirsty gun slinger. Jon
  24. So where does the AccuWedge fall into all of this? <munch> Jon
