  1. I have a Dillon 550B that I've been loading on for over 15 years. I just recently set it up for .223 and will soon be setting it up for .308. I have absolutely no complaints about that machine, and it has been working great for me with the .223. I would hate to even try to guess how many 40 S&W and 45 ACP rounds I've loaded on it but I can guarantee it is well into the tens of thousands! Ten years ago I was shooting 10-12 thousand rounds of 40 S&W each year (USPSA competiton & practice). The only problem I've had was a cracked bell crank last year and when I called Dillon they sent me a new one at no charge and didn't even want the old one returned. They did tell me that my machine was an older one and the new part was an upgraded piece. When I got it I could see where it was beefed up in the area where mine had failed. In the USPSA community the Dillon is usually preferred over the Hornaday or RCBS machines if for no other reason than their "No BS Lifetime Warranty". BTW, I don't work for or even know Mike Dillon, I just know what I've put my machine through!
  2. USPSA.org (comes with membership) and brianenos.com. Over the years I've become pretty selective about what sites and forums I belong to. Life is too short to put up with trolls and internet rangers! I have to say, 308AR.com is one of the best.
  3. I've only seen about 10 minutes of the show. That's about how long it took me to figure out how totally lame it was! I usually click on the episode description when it comes up in my onscreen guide and have yet to read anything that would make me want to try watching it again. :cookoo:
  4. Hey Rome, class act there! Most folks wouldn't do that. <thumbsup>
  5. 1500 Wnchester .223 55 gr. FMJBT bullets to load up!
  6. Were can I find this "10 minute trigger job"?
  7. Cuban women are a LOT like Russian women! I know, I've been married to a Cuban for 25 years now. She also likes tequila! :(
  8. We use a lot of Gildan t-shirts and have had really good results. They don't shrink, are fairly thick and hold up really well.
  9. What exactly is the difference between a single stage trigger and a two stage trigger? I've always been a pistolero and never dealt with rifle triggers much so I'm a bit confused as to how the two function differently. Now, if you want a 2 lb. trigger on your 1911 I'm your man, I can knock em out all day with good parts. <thumbsup>
  10. OMG Heminut, you've hijacked the thread and turned it into an acronym thread! WTF???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh well, IIWII (it is what it is)! <laughs>
  11. The curve at the back looks just like my DPMS lower. The spacing on my front and rear takedown pins (center to center) is right at 6 & 7/8 inches and the length from the flat just above the rear curve to the forwardmost edge of the receiver (the front of the forward takedown pin boss) is 8 & 7/16 inches. Hope this info is of some help.
  12. Yeah, I know that, if nothing else the folks on here are more than accommodating. My issue isn't that I can't find out, it's that I feel like a dumbass having to ask! <lmao>
  13. I was referring to stuff like BCG (bolt carrier group) and that sort of thing used in posts because people don't want to take the time to type out the words. Like I said, I'm figuring it out as I go along but it gets kinda frustrating sometimes.
  14. I've been a member in a lot of forums, shooting, muscle cars and Harleys, and this forum stands out in the quality of members and the diligence of the moderators. The only fault I can find is the acronyms! Some of them I have a devil of a time figuring out, but I guess the longer I'm here the better I'll get at it. This board is NOT as bad as brianenos.com about the acronyms though!
  15. I would also recommend the Lee stuff for economical reloading. I've got a Lee turret press that I used for everything for years and never had a problem. My son bought me a Dillon RL550B progressive back when I started getting serious about USPSA and it spoiled me. Now that I've gotten the LR 308 I will be spending around $180 for a quick change conversion for it to reload 308! :cookoo:
  16. That should sell great in the bars! Just think, no more drunks falling off the toilets! <lmao>
  17. Great video Edgecrusher! I sympathize with you about the fearless thing, my youngest (19 now) was one of those kids who had no fear. I upped my medical insurance coverage to the lowest deductables because of him! Four broken bones, 3 of which required surgery from the age of 10 to 17 and I now have these wonderful 'silver' highlights in my hair! <laughs>
  18. That gas block moving forward could definitely cause some short stroke problems. When it moves the misaligned gas ports in the barrel and gas block can cut down on the gas getting through to operate the BCG. You could take a drill bit that just fits into the holes for the setscrews and drill small dimples in the barrel for the setscrews to seat in and that should solve your problem with the gas block moving.
  19. Another thing you might do (I think I read it somewhere on this board) is lube your buffer, the buffer tube, and buffer spring.
  20. I guess I'm lucky but I never really thought about it until I read this thread. I have access to 2 ranges that are locked up to keep the public out. One is the range belonging to the local PD (which I'm retired from) and the other is owned by the owner of a local gunshop where I do a lot of my business.
  21. Now that there's funny, I don't care who you are! <lmao>
  22. Very well put Robocop! <thumbsup>
  23. +1 <munch>
  24. VERY nice! <thumbsup>
  25. ROFLMAO!!!!! <lmao> The intelligence (actually, lack thereof) of the criminal mind never ceases to amaze me! <thumbsup>
