  1. Do some searching here on CMMG. They have had some questionable QC at times. That said there are some that have no problem.
  2. As much as it pains me I would say buy a CMMG upper. That is a DPMS LR308 pattern, not an AR-10. There are different generations of CMMG, somebody here should be able to tell you what to look for. And welcome to the forum!
  3. Best of luck, hope the PSA performs well for you. This is a very informative test plan, a fair evaluation looks to be at hand.
  4. Got a big box headed for my door! Fuqe Midway.
  5. I'm thinking all these deep discounts are adding up to sales.
  6. Back up again for a daily Deal; http://palmettostatearmory.com/federal-308-168gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-gold-medal-ammunition-20rds-gm308m.html?trk_msg=D4UKVEC855E4R0DSDFO869IRI8&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=OQ4UI0MNPRGTDD9VL5UNHDMCV8&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fpalmettostatearmory.com%2ffederal-308-168gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-gold-medal-ammunition-20rds-gm308m.html&utm_campaign=Daily+Deal+Email&utm_content=5%3a00+Email
  7. Faxon just added another 10% discount to their closeout barrels, code is "closeout"; http://faxonfirearms.com/closeout-barrels/ Going fast, the two I tried to buy were sold out when I added them to the cart.
  8. Midway did post my review and pictures today. Sent me 3 more emails from customer service saying they cannot do returns on ammo. They are still selling the junk only at 45 cents a round!
  9. They have a 300WM AR; https://www.falkordefense.com/rifles/petra/
  10. Saw that, better order up
  11. It's back! http://palmettostatearmory.com/federal-308-168gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-gold-medal-ammunition-20rds-gm308m.html?trk_msg=Q7OT2I4CMB0KRAB1MQH2KVELT4&trk_contact=CCM1L42B6H11OTO9IV10FHBVDG&trk_sid=697O6FC10K7R8M2GJP6KAU5U94&utm_source=Listrak&utm_medium=email&utm_term=http%3a%2f%2fpalmettostatearmory.com%2ffederal-308-168gr-sierra-matchking-bthp-gold-medal-ammunition-20rds-gm308m.html&utm_campaign=Daily+Deal+Email&utm_content=11%3a00+Email
  12. Nope, I had a Jeep, others were getting stuck with CUCV's but the Colonel I drove for got to keep his jeep.
  13. Very similar to a kit issued to the Cavalry in the late 1800's. Found one at an auction once and sold it for $600. Found a part of one I kept, just the handle that doubled as a shoeing hammer and a stake to tie the horse to.
  14. They can't call it M193 because that denotes it has been accepted by the military. The X and the I added on does not mean it is rejected stuff just hasn't been through the military acceptance system. It can be good stuff but could also be junk. Strictly a marketing thing. In my experience the Federal XM193 in LC brass has always been good stuff.
  15. I found those twist rates on the shorter 308's interesting, reminded me of Armalite misprint. I gather these are accurate so a person would need to plan on some heavy bullets, also curious why the 20 inch was closer to standard 1:10? From Nathan's Q&A videos I had understood length of barrel does not effect twist? The 260 keeps popping up in my thought train but the logical me says not till I have mastered the capabilities of the 308.........
  16. I almost bought some of this from PSA at $5.99 a box but the reviews mentioned blown primers and real hot loads......... From SGammo "XM193i Ammunition is an ideal 5.56 ammo choice for shooting in your AR-15 rifle. This ammo is made by IMI in Israel under contract for Federal ammunition / ATK. Independence XM193i is one of the best types of all purpose target ammo for training, range use, or just shooting for fun." Reviews from PSA; "Have shot over 200 rds on my AP lower with PSA premium complete upper. Had 10+ primers popping off the casing and casing all sorts of failure: failure to eject bc primer from previous rd jammed the next rd, jammed trigger because popped primer fell into the lower. " "Purchased 5 boxes of this ammo and after loading and firing one box at the range I had three blown primers. This ammo is loaded stupid hot. Primers blew out of the cases and left carbon burns on the rear of those cases one of which became lodged in my barrel extension. Heavy extractor swipes, even on the cases that did not blow primers. Luckily no damage to my Stag Arms AR. Contacted Federal and they provided a prepaid shipping label to send this ammo back, after testing they sent me 5 new boxes of American Eagle. Google issues with Independence 5.56 and you'll find an assortment of issues with this ammo. Stick with Federal Lake City surplus or PMC this is junk and dangerous at that."
  17. Ran across an interesting new product, the DRACOS lightweight composite barrel that is guaranteed for life. The 13.5" and the 18" offerings have a 1:8.5 twist while the 20" has a 1:9.73. At only $700 I'm sure they will fly out the door! Notice there are no questions in this post, strictly for information, I could care less if anyone has tried one! https://www.dracosbarrels.com/shop/
  18. Glad to see they are posting these now, too late for me but at least others have a chance to pass on it. Seems like the right thing for Midway to do is pull the whole lot of it off the site. Noticed his lot was one number from mine so it isn't just a one lot issue.
  19. Welcome from Iowa!
  20. I have the Geisele suppressor gauge, it didn't hit anything but I couldn't be sure there are no cracks, dropped it at UPS yesterday so it's out of my hands now.
  21. I'm also impressed they offered to replace all of it, even what I have shot. So far so good, I told them to send the replacement ammo, won't get a chance to run it till maybe Labor Day though, work has me tied up till then.
  22. I buy lots of 9mm and 45 ACP from Target. I'm a big fan of LC NATO marked ammo for 5.56 and haven't been able to get that from them for the same price as a couple others. I may be getting theirs in the future though, MassAmmo no longer has those $135 cans of M193. Been buying lots of Speer Gold Dot from PSA lately, a little pricier than regular 5.56 but a damn good round in any of the weights.
  23. I'm tempted to try some. There are lots of good reviews out there so it isn't all bad stuff, hopefully they have a confirmed good lot to ship out. When it comes down to it at the price I paid it would be hard to replace the stuff with factory ammo for the same money. If it is bad I'll have to start the process over again.........
  24. Just got an email from a representative of IMI, this was not connected to Midway but contacting IMI from a google search; Dear Mr. Allen, My friends at IMI Systems of Israel referred your complaint to me. I have worked with IMI for many years and manage their US customer relations. If you will send me the ammo you have remaining, along with a copy of your original purchase receipt, I will either refund you for the full amount of the purchase or replace the M193 with ammo from a different production lot. The choice is yours. I will also send you a check to cover the cost of shipping the ammo to: Phoenix Defense Group 3013 Old Orchard Lane Parrish, FL 34219 We apologize for the problems you experienced. Sincere regards, Mike L Michael Swingley Phoenix Defense Group, LLC +1-727-455-0761
  25. Cool, wonder what the issue is with not showing them under AR15 Parts?
