  1. I bought this Sig PM400 last October, it is registered a pistol but shoots like a rifle. No SBR's allowed here in Iowa so this was my best option. The funky looking "brace" works well when shouldered, it adjusts for length of pull and holds for over 200 rounds at a crack without readjusting so far. I'm nearing 1,000 rounds and no failures to report. I've run everything from Winchester 45 grain varmint loads to BH 77 grain match. The main diet has been XM855 from P-mags and the stock mag. It has exceeded my accuracy expectations to date. I have not scoped it but stuck with the factory irons and a cheap Bushnell TRS-25 red dot with riser. The target pictured was at 50 yards with the red dot in well under 30 seconds, just taking enough time to get on target and squeeze. My wife gave me a flaming pig for Christmas but I think I'll save it for a future build, I don't want to mess with anything for fear I'll loose that 100% reliability!
  2. I've had this 938 since last June. I love the way it shoots, when it runs right! I've sent it back twice now for failure to extract but they don't seem to want to fix it. There is some side to side play in the barrel when in lock up, I'm pretty sure this is the main culprit to my issue but they clean it and shoot a few magazines then ship it back saying they could not duplicate the issue. Makes sense because I don't have the problem till 100-150 rounds into a range trip. The firing pin strikes are erratic, sometimes dead center sometimes a little off and sometimes near the edge. As you can imagine the accuracy suffers some. I'm getting ready to ship it back again, my LGS said he would swap it out and save me the trouble but I'm determined to get some of that first class customer service Sig advertises. When it runs right it's an awesome pocket pistol!
  3. Just a basic Springfield parkerized loaded with a short trigger and some work inside, 100% reliable so far!
  4. Strangely my AR-10 seems to do best with FN NATO ball ammo under 200 yards. The heavier match stuff starts catching up after that but at 100 yards I regularly get half the group size with the FN compared to 168 or 175 FGMM. Wish I could find more of it!
  5. If there is such a thing you can be sure it is the finest! 8)
  6. Sieh Guns (pronounced Say Guns) of Avoca, Iowa. He concentrates on gun shows and has a very large inventory. He has always gladly dug out whatever I wanted to see and has the lowest mark-up around. At the height of the gouging last winter he still sold me an AR-15 carbine for $650, a straight up Patriot for sure!
  7. My first black rifle was an Armalite AR-10 so I guess I started at the top. I wanted the range with the power and I know the AR-10 is on the top of the list for the "ban" crowd. I wanted to be sure they had something to think about if they try to take it, Liberty First!
  8. Just got one of these in long sleeve for Christmas from my daughter, what a girl!
  9. Anyone near Houston , MS.? I'll be working there till the end of summer and I'm dying to find a place to shoot my AR-10..........couldn't find any public ranges within 100 miles :-[
  10. Love him or hate him his genius can't be denied.
  11. You mean Mitt didn't leave ya'll in good shape with gun rights? I almost put a laughing smile after that but it just ain't funny anymore. I feel for you brother!
  12. Good news for the Liberty front! I just got back from my 12th Iowa Republican convention as a delegate. Some of us older Liberty minded delegates together with the younger Ron Paul supporters threw out all but one of the old guard party officials. Our presidential elector for the electoral college is a Paul supporter and a Tea party organizer and the only two delegates going to the National convention that are not Paul supporters are Gov. Branstad and senator grassley. The best part was we had the numbers to turn their convoluted rules system against them, the establishment was stunned first then just red faced pissed off. Who ever would have thought it would be the Republican party that stands up for the people! I heard speeches about the second amendment so many times it sounded almost like an echo, a very pleasant echo! Get active people, the battle is on and getting hot in Iowa!
  13. My AR-10 cam pin was a real tight fit as well when new. It is not a defect, just real tight tolerances. Several hundred rounds later and I can get it out fairly easy.
