Very true, I don't know how you city boys do it, at least I can run over the traffic out here and not get in trouble. Damn deer behind every rock! 5 deer in that last picture if you look close, they wait till you get close then run in front of you. -

Yep, only worked 8 instead of what has been 14 hour+ days, 6 days a week. Got a pile of comp time built up to use for cold weather testing! Sick of driving 200 miles a day on this blue ridge parkway for sure. -

Didn't even think of that aspect, pretty much scent free, just a hint of yesterday's fish from the oven, maybe they pre-bake? -
Had a rain day today so started to get to know my new scope. Fantastic glass, I have been looking at scopes for a bit now and can't say I remember a big difference from this scope to several other high dollar scopes I have eyeballed, Sig, Nightforce, Steiner, S&B. I haven't had them side by side but this will be plenty clear enough for me. Really like the reticle so far. The knobs are nice, you can hear them sucking air past the O-rings when you lift them and the clicks are solid and loud enough. No wobble or play in any of the adjustments. 1 hour at between 200 and 225 in the oven and everything felt the same, except I had to use a towel to touch it. It will spend the night in the freezer, the real cold test will come this winter when it gets good and below zero in Iowa, that will test the high speed coating, I've yet to find a scope that didn't get a little foggy when breathed on at 15 below. Sorry about the poor quality pics, all I have with me is my phone, if anyone wants a better look at something let me know and I will get more pics with a quality camera when I get home. Once it is mounted I will do some tracking test on it.

That would make sense. makes me think twice about getting one.

When the pistol discharges in the video drop test the slide does not move to the rear, why would this be?

The LaRue MBT is a great trigger for the money, $125 normally but often on sale for $99. I have a Velocity made trigger, great feel but it doesn't like some of the harder primers, that and I prefer two stage triggers over single stage. -

Eventually this scope and mount will go on an all out pig, long heavy barrel with a suppressor hanging off it, PRS stock or similar, something that will plant itself firmly on the bench. Down the road it will be on a 50BMG so no worries about weight. -

For now I would shoot it a bunch before any modifications. This will give you a better idea on what your priorities are for the rifle. I usually find a trigger upgrade is top of my list for a factory rifle. -

Ordered a scope mount from Aadland Engineering. I was planning on a Spuhr mount but then found these, cheaper but not cheap and made in the USA. Even has a tritium bulb behind the integral level. http://www.aadmount.com/30mm/index.html http://shop.aadmount.com/AADMOUNT-34mm-AADMOUNT34GIII.htm -
Used to be I would say no, but a recent experience causes me to add a caveat. SLR blocks are good to go on either caliber, lots of long term experience there. I recently tried the Superlative Arms adjustable block on a 308 and ran out of adjustment on the bleed off portion of the setting. They are a bit different with a restrictive mode at one end of the adjustment screw that works like the SLR block in that it restricts the amount of gas allowed into the system. It also has a bleed off portion of the adjustment range that allows gas to bypass the gas tube and exhausts it out the front of the block. On the bleed off portion heavier loads could never be properly adjusted, lighter loads like ZQI and Perfecta 150 grain could be adjusted far enough to cause the bolt travel to be too short but FGMM loads would still fully function at the most open position. The idea was to open up the valve until the rifle stops functioning then turn it back a 1/4 turn to achieve the lowest amount of gas to enter the rifle that it needs to function. If you do a search here you will find threads with links to a video that describes this better than I can.

Just read and watched for near two years before I posted here, take a deep breath, relax and give it some time. Suggesting alone time for a long time member will not get you an invite.

Almost $4700 and it only comes with one mag, KAC are the tightasses!

Good deal!

320 will have more aftermarket support since the Army selected it. But why not get a real classic Sig like a 226? Lots of LEO trades in 40 S&W on the market for cheap right now.

On my Matrix receiver build the Aero tube was too deep allowing the bolt to stop better than a 1/4 inch behind the bolt catch. This gives the BCG too much momentum coming back and can break the bolt catch. I threw something like 75 cents in the bottom of the tube and it stopped where I needed it.
