  1. 2015 best my old eyes can see.
  2. Only had one 5.56 with me, I will give it a go in the Armalite but with all the other ammo running in this rifle I don't hold out much hope.
  3. Sexy rig, lets see some smoke come off that barrel now!
  4. Went to the range today with Dad and two Grandsons, ages 13 and 17. I was having all sorts of malfunction with the boys, 5.56 was blowing primers and the 716 doesn't extract after a few suppressed rounds. Figured I better hang tight with them since they are not real familiar with AR's. Dad was sighting in a 300 BO pistol I built him, he has hours with mine so I wasn't worried...till I hear him bitching he can't hit schit with the suppressor on, first thing I think is damn, he doesn't have it on all the way. Sure as schit I reach down and it pulls right off....with an end cap strike I show him the end cap and explain it's hard to be accurate when the bullet is hitting the suppressor. He knew right away what he did, said he thought it was funny he didn't hear the ratchet. I've noticed these SDN-6's like to stick a bit right as they get to the ratchet after the carbon builds up a bit, he had seen me deal with it a few times so I didn't think I needed to put it on for him. Lesson learned, hope it isn't to costly a lesson. I can't see any baffle strike but then it is very hard to see much inside them. better safe than sorry so back to the mothership it goes, glad I bought two!
  5. I took advantage of the 30 cents a round and free shipping at Midway on Father's day and picked up 180 rounds of IMI 55 grain 5.56. Every third round blows the primer! They appear to have been crimped and I don't see any other pressure signs. The rifle I used did fine with LC and FC 55 grain, Fiocchi 69 grain match and MK 262 clone from Magtech/CBC so I don't think it is a rifle issue. The primers don't get blown far, usually end up jamming the bolt with the next round, drop the mag, lock it back and they fall out.
  6. I have wear on a BCM handle and one from LaRue but my TacOps does not show any wear. Doesn't really bother me, they seemed to wear a good bit at first but then settled in.
  7. Welcome from Iowa!
  8. All that video and someone still tried to lie. I am skeptical that there will be an actual conviction though, they tend to protect their own, they will drag it out then drop it while something else is hot and heavy in the news.
  9. I'm jealous, I only get 4 a day.
  10.   11. For all your firearms needs near Bristol, TN look up Cover Your Six Customs, coveryour6customs@gmail.com. Jason is an artist with Cerakote and Kydex and does some very creative custom work on nearly every firearm I can think of. He does a lot of work on Glocks, lightening cuts in slides, RMR cuts, trigger work, and much more. His work on lever actions is amazing, both function and looks. He always makes sure the customer walks away satisfied. They are in the middle of moving to a larger shop so drop them a line for the location. He did the Cerakote work for me on a 300 BO build posted here and this is a recent customer request Cerakote job;
  12. Damn, didn't realize these were so expensive, need one for the Brother-in-laws rifle, looks like Ergo is it. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/grip-parts/pistol-grips/ar-15-suregrip-tactical-deluxe-grip-w-palm-shelf-sku573000062-54344-105610.aspx edit, did find a DPMS but I know the basic Ergo grips are good quality; http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/grip-parts/pistol-grips/ar-15-panther-palm-grip-prod5569.aspx
  13. I know where you're at, costs me money almost every time I go page through the site!
  14. Had to try it wet, maybe a little bit quieter, could have just been in my head though. Won't be running it that way, messy, messy, and more messy. I could deal with the gummy substance if it didn't distribute said substance on everything withing 3 foot of the pistol! 300 rounds through it already. Got a big family range day scheduled for next weekend so I may have to clean it before that so we can run it hard that day!
  15. Need to drink my coffee before posting...........
  16. I don't think the carbine tube has the threaded end to receive the screw, unless PSA has some proprietary stuff going on. For the money why not just buy the right tube? They are cheap relatively speaking.
  17. Can't believe they haven't fixed that yet, it was the end of February when they told me it was a typo and they would get it fixed right away.......... feel like ordering one then raising hell about not getting what they described.
  18. Nice! I gotta build me a 9.
  19. The MK25 is actually the wife's, my MK25 stays with me out on the road but they shoot the same. can't wait to get that threaded barrel for the 1911 now. Then maybe a 9mm carbine with slide fire so I can really burn up some ammo!
  20. Welcome from Iowa!
  21. That was FUN! Burned through 165 rounds without issue. I'm not seeing a need for suppressor sights, no problem hitting at 15 yards, maybe for distance work but I'll be trying some of that yet this week. Noticed you have to pay attention to the suppressor coming loose, both from the barrel and the rear piston assembly, hoping that goes away after some rounds. Brought out the ear pro thinking I might need it for the 115 grain stuff but really didn't hear much difference between that and the 147gr subsonic stuff. Banging the steel was the loudest noise, got to remember some water for the next trip so I can see what it sounds like wet. Better get another 1,000 rounds of 9mm ordered up.
  22. Here it is at home; I gotta get that sticker off the TLR...........
  23. They look nice, I really like the dark grain running through them. How does the checkering feel? I assume it is pressed checkering or has it been cut?
  24. 11 1/2 months and my last stamp arrived! Time to sling some lead from the Ti-rant 45.
