  1. Thanks guys, I knew I could get some good butt-stroking info here, now I know where to focus my attention. <thumbsup> I expected more off color comments ??? ??? ??? I'm torn between being proud of your will power and disappointed in not being thrashed for such a softball pitch <dontknow> <laughs> <lmao>
  2. Is there a better stock for butt-stroking than the regular A-2? I recall all the abuse I handed out to my M-16 so I trust it to give a good blow. Has there been any advances in the field that would make any real difference? I'm thinking about a carbine but haven't handled a stock on one that I feel I could really bash something with.
  3. <thumbsup> In agree, always be ready, you just never know what's coming next. Better to have a plan and not use it than not to have a plan.
  4. I love my ArmaLite! :auto: Goes bang every time. <thumbsup>
  5. I was getting ready to order one tonight but then I caught the fathers-day sale at Primary Arms and ordered the SSA trigger instead, I'm getting one for sure at the end of the month though!
  6. Just ordered a SSA trigger, decided it would be the right configuration for the PM400, came with a Spikes lower kit. I told myself they would be spare parts but....... maybe better get a lower to "store" them in <laughs> https://www.primaryarms.com/Geissele-Super-Semi-Automatic-SSA-Two-StageTrigg-p/gat-ssa-slpk100.htm
  7. How'd you get that picture? If my wife posted that....... :bat: Close... <laughs>
  8. I've got mag holders fastened inside my old issue trench coat, works great! 8) Except of course when the temperature hits 90!
  9. Guess I will need two, got that Sig P716 next on the list for "pistols". Both that and the PM400 have lots of sling point options already but I'm thinking that MI adapter will be on the way soon. B) As long as I buy the wifey a purse now and again she doesn't care much what I spend my expense checks on :love4: , I'm gonna get pretty skinny if I keep hanging out here! <laughs>
  10. Wow, thanks gentlemen! From no choice to overload! I think I like the quick release so I can adjust for the grand-kids. The MI looks good as well, it would hold the "brace with a cant in it if I choose, I looked at their website but didn't see that one??????....now I'm like a kid in a candy store  maybe I'll get two!
  11. That would be exactly what I'm looking for! I'd be glad to pay your time and material plus the shipping! Pm me with details of what you need. You never know, there may be a market for a collar like this with all the Sig "arm braces" out there now.....everyone has different length arms you know B)
  12. I'm trying to find a sling point adapter that will clamp on to the buffer tube. I want to position it about 3-4 inches down the buffer tube from the receiver on my PM400. My main purpose is to hold the "arm brace" in position. I've been using a duct tape wrap but with time, recoil, and heat the "brace" is pushing the tape forward and making a sticky mess. Most everything I'm finding appears to be made to fit right at the receiver. Anyone got any ideas? I've thought about a regular hose clamp but I'd prefer a more finished look, the duct tape got a try because it was black......
  13. I wouldn't have any issues running this carbine upper; http://www.armalite.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=U10A4CBFX&ReturnUrl=Categories.aspx?Category=f1e54903-c50b-4f43-9140-d3a24eb188ec on my regular rifle lower would I??????
  14. Thanks guys! <thumbsup> Did a head on at twice the speed once and walked away without a "scratch" so I was feeling a little wimpy about the ambulance ride, then I remembered how bad the broken neck from that one felt the next day so I thought I better swallow the pride and let them check me over. Damn Rangers flipped some switch in my brain that makes me think pain is good and then never flipped it back when they were done with me <dontknow> , the $hit is starting to accumulate with age now , being OK has become a sliding scale, all one way! I'll for sure be OK enough to give the boys from the PD a run! :auto:
  15. <thumbsup> :hail:
  16. Big kudos to the Starkville MS. PD! C:-) I had an auto accident last Sunday morning in Starkville Mississippi. I was on my way from the range to get groceries when an old guy turned in front of me, hit at about 35 and totaled my car, rang my bell a bit :ugone2far: . I had a can of empty casings and a can of loose 5.56 that got scattered all over the front seat area, a P226 MK25 and a 1911 both in thigh rigs with loaded mags sitting on the passenger seat floor, and a Sig PM400 in a case with a loaded 100 round SF mag that was tossed to the front  . They paramedics were starting to put me on a back board for a ride to the ER when the police arrived. I started to explain I had a conceal carry permit that covered the uncased weapons, they said no worry, they didn't need to see it. I asked if they could secure my weapons, no problem, they safety checked them and hauled them to the evidence locker then caught me at the ER and gave me the numbers I needed to get them back as well as complimenting me on all the "Great looking kit". I was invited to shoot a tactical course with them at the range as soon as I was up to it. When I picked them up a couple days later everything including the ammo was neatly packed up in my range bag and rifle case, a great bunch of guys and all TRUE American law enforcement, Protect and Serve! <thumbsup>
  17. To the men of Pointe du hoc , I salute you! Today is the 70th anniversary of the Allied invasion of Normandy during World War II, but a speech given on its 40th anniversary by President Ronald Reagan is one that everyone should hear. Standing on top of a cliff on the northern coast of France, Reagan detailed the story of the American Rangers, who had to scale sheer cliffs to take Pointe Du Hoc from the Germans, who were shooting down on the them with machineguns and cutting their ropes. Wikimedia Commons "When one Ranger fell, another would take his place. When one rope was cut, a Ranger would grab another and begin his climb again," Reagan said, to an audience of world leaders and veterans of D-Day at the Ranger Monument there. "They climbed, shot back, and held their footing. Soon, one by one, the Rangers pulled themselves over the top, and in seizing the firm land at the top of these cliffs, they began to seize back the continent of Europe. Two hundred and twenty-five came here. After 2 days of fighting, only 90 could still bear arms." Roughly four miles from Omaha Beach, where soldiers were also landing on June 6, 1944, Pointe Du Hoc was vital to the American effort, as the Germans had placed heavy artillery at the position that could rain fire down on the beaches. "These are the boys of Pointe du Hoc," Reagan continued, looking toward the Rangers from that campaign sitting before him. "These are the men who took the cliffs. These are the champions who helped free a continent. These are the heroes who helped end a war." Now 30 years after Reagan finished his speech, and 70 years from that terrible day in World War II, his closing remarks still ring true: "Strengthened by their courage, heartened by their value [valor], and borne by their memory, let us continue to stand for the ideals for which they lived and died." 18. I wouldn't leave home without at least twice that many, and don't take them all on the road with me! I never let the wife see them all at one time, plausible deniability is key!" What extra magazines, define extra honey?" <dontknow> or then there is always "That's just what they sell the ammo in, I save them for reloading." ::)
  19. <lmao> <laughs> <munch> <lmao> <laughs>
  20. 14 inch tall target painted on steel, 10 rounds at 200 yards with a brisk pace, about 15 seconds. SIG PM400, Bushnell elite 1-6.5 using an Atlas bipod. Can't wait to get my AR-10 down here and make that steel ring :auto:
  21. I need to get a new trigger on mine, it is terribly gritty. I thought it might smooth out with some use but it doesn't seem to change, 1,000 rounds and it still grinds. Fine for rapid close in stuff but trying to be precise with it is a challenge. My stock Armalite trigger puts the Sig to shame! Now to start reading all the trigger posts and get an idea of which one will suit my purpose, nothing real light but smooth and crisp like my AR-10 is a must.
  22. I ended up with a Primary Arms extended mount, 150 rounds this morning and it worked fine. I did get a somewhat better picture of the reticle; It put together some decent groups but the real test will come when I get home next week and practice shooting at tires rolling down the hill. Then I'll know how well the reticle works for fast, accurate target acquisition. It worked fairly well for a rapid series of shots on a 12-14 inch painted on steel target at 200 yards; 10 rounds as fast as I could get the sight back on target, no bags just an Atlas bipod. A thousand or so more rounds and I'll be sold!
  23. As a kid I carried my rifle through town on my way to the river to hunt and check traps, nobody blinked an eye. On the contrary, I would get people stopping and asking if I'd trap some muskrats on their property. I used to work on rifles in the high school metals shop without any hassles, carried a buck knife in my pocket from 4th grade on, never a question and never a problem, we all carried knives........the media has turned this country into a bunch of nervous ninny's! :soap:
  24. I paid about $1,200 after tax and got 100 rounds and a couple widow P-mags with it.
