  1. I will never wear out the ones I was born with. I cannot understand what would make you want to do anything in 130*!!
  2. Oh I will stay straight, I don't think at this point that she will fight much, she is the one requesting it and gives no reason except that "it feels like we have grown apart" and "we shouldn't have to try so hard to make time for each other", we've been together 21 yrs next month, married for 13, and have a beautiful, healthy, smart 4 year old girl, the wife always liked to be the center of attention, I say all that is part of growing up. All that really matters to me now are my daughter (Rylie), my tools, and my guns. She can have everything else.
  3. Slight change of plans, the garand is out a divorce lawyer is in, _uck me in the neck!
  4. Straighten the rod, chuck it in a lathe or drill press ,rotate, watch, hit gingerly with a soft hammer it may take a few tries but it works, polish the ball, new pin and you're back in business.
  5. There is a thread with links to both videos and more info over on 1919a4.com
  6. No offense brother I tend to think most of us here are like minded and probably similar in other ways as well, but I generally think of anyone north and east of Waco as a Yankee though.
  7. I am in the same boat, pull downs have gone up too much, hopefully it is just due to their long absence. Would plating be enough for the pressures/speed? I have read about plated bullets not doing well in 30 carbine. If they made plated with a groove so we could crimp a gas check I think that may hold up. Not sure let's see what others come up with.
  8. It was D.B. Cooper
  9. No offense to current company , but that's what you have to deal with up there, a bunch of liberal Cali, Yankee, transplants and uppity pricks, _______em in the neck. I have been there, I didn't lose anything there so I have no reason to go back , if I leave my current location it's for somewhere north and west with a much lower population density. Rant over I just can't stand people behaving that way.
  10. Robocop must be getting about 12k back!! I am still getting all of our personal crap together then have to get all of the crap for the shop together, I would rather take a ass whipping than do this!!
  11. Not yet, put it to the side for a while. If I can't get it out the only thing I can see to do is use a tiny carbide burr and I think I can make a small hole from inside the magwell that will intersect the pin hole and possibly blow it out or push it out with a wire or tiny punch. I have oiled the hell out of it while its been waiting so I will try some more before using a implement of destruction on it.
  12. I picked up supplies today, 2lbs h322, 3 lbs. titegroup, 2 lbs. h4831, and 1lb IMR 7828ssc, 3k rem. lg. pistol, 1k fed. lg. rifle, 3 hundred fed. lg. mag. rifle, and 1k 62 gr. .224 fmj pulldowns. Lots to do!!
  13. He got it today, I got to handle it, and I must say I was very impressed with the feel, comfort, and fit and finish. The quality looks very good, it does have some heft, enough to not feel cheap but not enough to be too heavy, I don't normally even like bullpup designs but I do like this one, another good friend who is a lifelong shooter got to handle it and had the same opinion, will shoot it soon as I can and report back. The owner is going to mount his thermal 4 power scope on it and we will get to hog hunt with it as soon as we can find some hogs, he has a good set up for hog hunting, the thermal to find them and shoot, and two gen 3 military PVS4's one on a 308ar and the other for a guest to mount along with a laser light for better illumination and a electric golf cart for stealth, it's a absolute blast!! Pun intended.
  14. I had my granola cereal this am, my favorite cereal but it's still cereal.
  15. M1 Garand and 308 ar parts here, if I can keep that much with out the wife figuring it out.
  16. Awesome breakfast! But I don't see you cholesterol meds?
  17. Keep your mouth open when you shoot it, it seems to help with the pressure in the sinuses and feeling like a basketball hit you in the nose. My buddies Barrett is real bad about causing pressure in the sinuses.
  18. ANYTIME I torque something I lube the threads and the shoulder it tightens against that way you are not fighting friction when tightening. I have seen some loctited but do not recommend that.
  19. Maybe I missed something, I don't understand the "box of milkduds"?
  20. It'll ruin your shorts too!! I have a dpms pattern 308 I built from one of their rifle kits, it wasn't the absolute best but not bad either, although it did require a little fitting and troubleshooting, but I do understand they're not usually even that good.
  21. The 50's are a lot of fun, if I ever get to build one it will be a M2, my longtime friend and shooting buddy has a Ferret 50 and a Barrett M82a1, a string of 5 rds fired quickly is a blast out of the barrett, and your are correct it's like a 12g with heavy loads really just a good hard shove against your shoulder ( IMO a 270 bolt gun is waayyy worse), but it is also a big ass explosion, it will bounce or blow just about everything off the table!! Congratulations, I hope you get her out soon!! For you Armalite fans, Ferret makes a upper that fits Armalite ar-10 lowers.
  22. He did tell me they are supposed to use the FAL mags, If anyone else has any info on this firearm it would be greatly appreciated
  23. 45 auto here too, what else is there?
