For those of you non Facebook users here's a couple of items that Forward Controls is working on.... These are prototypes. Forward Controls Design with Dustin Humbert January 22 · Edited · Shown publicly for the first time at 2015 SHOT is the LDFA in Ti. Designed specifically for AR shooters with ambi charging handles, the LDFA follows the evolution of life forms on planet. Things that get used frequently and are useful become more prominent, things that don't, become smaller or go away. I don't want the forward assist to go away, only smaller (since I don't use it often), and for it to not catch on my finger nail when I pull on the right latch of the charging handle with my right index finger. The LDFA is a rimless design with reduced footprint that does not snag on webbing, and more importantly, the user's finger smile emoticon Available soon in 4340 steel and parkerized, unfinished Ti, and DLC coated Ti.

I own a Mosin Nagant ,only because someone wanted to trade me one for a backpack, never fired the damn thing. There's too many great AMERICAN MADE weapons I prefer to spend my $$ own. But to each his own.

I've never owned a Burris but they have a good reputation for that price range, looking at the specs it looks good & has a good warranty. Here's some others in that price range to compare it to. I think you're mixing up your info. The reticle that you've posted on the left is the standard US Army Mil-Dot reticle (USMC has a very similar one) and as far as I know they're mostly used in FFP (First Focal Plane) or fixed magnification scopes. If it's used in a SFP (Second Focal Plane) variable power scope it will only work at either full or half power. The Mil-Dot system is used to range targets quickly (with practice) & works off the metric system but don't let that scare you, it's not hard to learn. The reticle you've posted on the right appears to be the Burris F-Class MOA, It is also a FFP scope. With a FFP scope the reticle size changes with increased or decreased magnification settings, the SFP scopes reticle size stays constant throughout the magnification settings. As to which is best for your intended purposes I cant say "hunting" can be anything from shooting running hogs in the Texas brush < Mil-Dot, to Stationary Elk across a canyon.
