  1. Two morons who deserve each other. Both should be forbidden forever from procreating or voting.
  2. +1000. Stupid blithering, talking head. Had a buffet at a friend's home with the familys. Great pulled pork and buffalo chicken dip.
  3. It's raining here. No outdoor session. No therapy. :( Don't care about the superbowl.
  4. Dillon and Frankford Arsenal spray lubes (basically the same) work great. I usually lube and size cases in batches of 500. Spread 50-75 cases on a cookie sheet, spray, roll them around (makes a lot of noise), put them in the sun to dry. When dry put another cookie sheet of sprayed cases in the sun to dry and size the first sheet of cases. Keep this going until all cases are sized. Dump the sized cases into the tumbler to remove the lube and you're done.
  5. Midway has a Caldwell chrono on a flyer sale today for $69.99. Don't know anything about them, but the price is great.
  6. Can't resist poking some of you in the ribs. Apparently Armalite has decided they needed to revamp their line of AR10 rifles. I especially like the line in the first paragraph: "It is clear that Armalite has emerged out of the cave and walked proudly into the 21st century." <lmao> http://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/armalite-redesigned-shot-show-2015/ Their new AR10 looks just like my latest MATEN (pics forthcoming.)
  7. I'd heard him a few times on Sirius radio. Didn't care much for him.
  8. I cannot put my finger on the URLs, but there are several comparing untrimmed meplats with trimmed meplats just to see if it made any difference in the resultant accuracy. Bottom line, there was no difference in the accuracy between trimmed and untrimmed bullets. Don't sweat it.
  9. So does that impugne the long term reliability or the accuracy of these rifles? Expect, what, 5000 rounds before needing a barrel change? I'm just interested if anyone knows?
  10. Not sure what you mean? RL15 is Alliant powder, not sure what 4477 is. I just keep the powders inside the house. I'm still using some WWII surplus powder I bought decades ago. Still works great!
  11. Wonderful! How did they keep it under 6lbs and maintain long-term reliability? Enquiring minds want to know!!!
  12. Kroil is very good stuff indeed. It's a better penetrant oil than the standard WD40. It does help clean things. but prolonged contact with metal will eventually eat the metal. And I can't get by the smell. It stinks like a urinal disinfectant cake.
  13. I never lie, and I'm always right. :))
  14. I'm officially bored with the NFL. I'm bored with Brady, Belechick and the cheatin' Pats, I'm bored with the Seathugs, I'm bored with prevent defenses that don't prevent anything, I'm bored with the same teams in the playoffs year after year, I'm bored with an insipid Roger Goodell. I think I'll just go to the range on Superbowl Sunday.
  15. How many rounds have your put down the pipe? Mine needed ~120 before it reliably locked back when empty. It just needed breaking in. that's all. Since then, not a single problem.
  16. When a primer drops to the floor (not if, when) I stop and search for it. I have vacuumed up primers and powder. Nothing has ever gone off. I don't worry about it.
  17. Yes, after they are fired a few hundred rounds. I cannot get the dark gray stain off the NiB BCG. Works great, just doesn't clean up.
  18. I thought the exact same thing with the Griffen device. It is a great piece of equipment.
  19. Okay. How do you know? ::)
  20. Merry and Blessed Christmas to all, especially my new friends here.
  21. Try Sierra's Gamekings. Look just like a BTHP but better. I've actually found them to be just slightly more accurate.
  22. So I have to wonder, is it just the resin tip or is there an improved shape to the bullet as well? Hornady makes the A-max (okay, in 168 grain) but they've never claimed it supersonic at 1000 yds.

Actually, not hoarding. There is a plan. I told my children after they move out and securely establish themselves, each will get an M1 and a sidearm. They love the idea.

Just to further piss you off, Unforgiven only said 'from the '40's'. I wasn't counting my others. <nutkick>
  25. Leave the rifle alone! Before spending money on a bunch of mods, spend your money on ammo and go practice, practice, practice. Learn good breathing and trigger techniques. Annotate your target with date, range, conditions, ammo type, etc. and keep your targets. Note your progress. When your rifle is fully broken in and you're familiar with it and its characteristics and have good markmanship techniques, then begin thoughts of modifications. Equipment cannot make up for poor technique. Just my $0.02 worth
