  1. Screw all of you. The Hawks should never have beaten the Vikes last week :-) Please, someone, anyone, wipe that smug face off of Pete Carrol.
  2. Syrac adjustable. It's great!
  3. Got the series recorded. It should be good... when I find the time.
  4. Ditto, and alter that to "the establishment politicos lose"... everything.
  5. A Joyous and Blessed Christmas to you all, and a prosperous, freedom-filled 2016.
  6. Caption should have read: "LA Schools Closed, GPA Increases Half A Point"
  7. Let's not push it. This is an outfit in Houston that sells a mini CNC mill that is designed specifically to finish 80% receivers. I'd consider getting one, but I don't want something like that until I learn to modify it to be a more general milling machine. http://shop.ghostgunner.net/collections/featured-products
  8. Finished up the class last week. It required a lot of time during the week (14+ hours a week), but it was well worth it. I wouldn't consider myself to be a machinist at this stage, but I can spell it.I signed up for a special projects course for next semester. That just allows me access to the shop. Got lots of plans for it! Honestly, everyone should take industrial arts classes of some type at one time or another. At the very least you'll gain appreciation for the seemingly common things around us. In many respects they are not so common.
  9. F'ing Saints didn't just lose again, they didn't bother to show up. No running game, no passing game, penalties everywhere. Do these guys even give a s%&t? This team is so pitiful, there is no help. They need a wholesale change in everything... coaching, players, front office. Everything.
  10. It's not just him. As much of an a-hole as he is, the real problem are the thick-skulled, reality avoiding, commie-inspired fools who vote. Stupid people are the real problem.
  11. To all jarheads, everywhere. Happy Birthday! Eternal Father, grant, we pray, To all Marines, both night and day, The courage, honor, strength, and skill Their land to serve, thy law fulfill: Be thou the shield forevermore From every peril to the Corps.
  12. We had a neat project for a local entrepreneur. He wanted a five-cavity mold. I wrote the programming for this (not all by myself) and after zeroing it, let the machine chug along. First a rough cut, then a finish pass. The mirror half of the mold is next. Really enjoyed doing this. mold_1.3gp mold_2.3gp
  13. After years of putting off getting one, I purchased the RCBS auto powder drop connector for my 4x4. First I loaded up a bunch of 44 mag with Trail Boss without a hiccup. Because of TB's shape it doesn't always play nicely, but I dialed in 7.1 grains for my 44mag load, and in 10 consecutive throws I measured it never varied from 7.1. Tried it next with Silhouette powder in .45acp and it was likewise spot on with every throw, never varied. I think the smooth, consistent motion helps with the consistency of the powder throws, even small volumes. Man, I wish I'd bought this years ago. It's the bees' knees. MOV_3778.3gp
  14. No. It's "Aloha snackbar".
  15. Lots of pics. I'm looking forward to seeing you machine the Genesis lower.
  16. I'm only 30 miles from you, but I'm not a coonass. Like their food though. BTW, there are pythons here. Found a 12 footer hiding in a garage in Lacombe a few years back. Obviously one let go into the wild, but nonetheless, in the wild and probably breeding.
  17. The Syrac is an absolute dream. I have a gen 1 on my first 308, and a gen 2 ready for my second. Properly adjusted, it tames the recoil and throws the cases into a nice little pile at 4 o'clock.
  18. Welcome from a neighbor east of you. What kind of brass do you sell, as in metallic cases?
  19. The instructor jokingly refers to the Haas cnc lathe as a "glorified toolroom lathe". No live tooling, static tailstock, but the 4-position tool post allows programable changes. Who knows, maybe I'll eventually get a small Sherline CNC lathe just for the fun of it.
  20. After about two months of learning cnc machining on Haas simulators and machines, I can say "Damn, this is fun!" It's also humbling. I'm not a programmer, or even that computer savvy, so learning the programming language and editing on the Haas computer panels is awkward at best. But like everything else, crawl first, toddle, walk, run later. We've been doing 98% on the mill, but will begin the lathe soon enough. What am I going to do with it? I don't know. As I said, it's just fun.
  21. Give AA#2 a try. It meters beautifully. Okay, now having said that, yes, I know AA#2 is rarer than hens' teeth these days. Go to Powder Valley Inc. and look under Shooters World. Clean Shot is supposed to be close enough to AA#2 as to be indistinguishable.
  22. Xtreme makes the plated lead bullets. They are wonderful. I have used 1000s of their 38/357 SWC. Very consistent in manufacture, excellent accuracy and clean as a whistle to load. I've got lots waiting to load up in other calibers.
  23. I like and have used a lot of Red Dot over the years. It too is a flake, but it feeds well. Zip is a flake and it feeds and performs well. There are too many other quality, fast burning pistol powders to waste time on 700X. Ramshot Competition first comes to mind (it is fantastic), as does AA#2, Solo 1000.
  24. A friend recently gave me a bunch of reloading consumables, including a new bottle of IMR 700X. Now, I tried that powder once 30 years ago. I shot accurately enough, but feeds like crap through a Uniflo. I thought why not try it again? First throw, JAM. Those big fat gummy flakes seized the drum on the powder measure. I took it apart, cleaned the gummy residue out, reassembled, re-filled it. JAM. This stuff still sucks. I'm going to give it to my daughter and let her light it off. At least someone will get some enjoyment out of this crap.
  25. And he might be a very nice guy... irrelevant. The Saints have been going downhill for a number of years now. NO ONE is doing their job and a major change is needed. Throughout the organization, top to bottom. You do know what NFL stands for? Not For Long.
