What made you decide to move to the 308 AR/AR-10 Platform?

Shot AR15's and AR180's for 30+ years. Always wanted to upgrade to 7.62 platform. Got down to either M1a, RRA LAR08, or AR10. Ended up with the AR10 and like it a lot and very impressed by its accuracy. -
Very nice. With that scope you can always watch a drive in movie in the next county after hitting the range. Did you get it zeroed in?

The problem is not the scope it is the mount. What mount are you using? And what make AR 308? The problem with clearing sights is that it is sometimes impossible to crank the scope down that far. Might consider some other iron sight options unless yours is a fixed handle AR.

I ordered an LAR-08 A4 on July 9, 2012. Got tired of waiting and bought an off the rack AR10 A4 in November. My LGS kept the order open and still has received nothing. Only option was free float handguard. Would have been a great rifle but I am happy with what I got. -

Thanks if it ever warms up and the snow melts I want to explore what this rifle can do. Probably more than I can.

Above was 7.62x51 M118LR in a 20inch AR10A4 with a 4x16 Nikon Monarch scope.

200 meters, 19 degrees 30 mph quartering wind. Adjusting sight for distance. First shot 3 inches high. 8 clicks down on scope. Next four shot. Too cold to shoot anymore.

Thanks for the feedback, how about HSM ammo? I am thinking of trying their M118LR equivalent as well.

Does any one have any experience with BVAC reloads? Thinking of trying them.

New to the forum. Have an Armalite AR10BA4. Incredible rifle! If it isn't as accurate as my 30-06 bolt guns, it is very close.

Always wanted one,and since I read about the original AR10's back in '61 was fascinated by that rifle. Messed around with AR15's and finally got mine right before the recent craziness. Shoots 1 MOA at 200 meters. Haven't tried further out yet.
