  1. If the proposed changes to the trusts do not happen, I'll be buying some more suppressors. I have a buddy who is a dealer for them and will sell me them at his cost. Just takes double long since he's out of state. Form3 from AAC to him... them form3 from him to my local guy... then the form4 wait...
  2. did the $300 lifetime upgrade last year... best investment I've done in awhile. I don't always agree with the NRA, but no one else has the clout to fight for us. There are other organizations (also joined GOA) but none come to the power the NRA has.
  3. It's here~ It's here! pre-ordering was successful. Guess I'll load some mags tonight and see how it works.
  4. Truthfully? Whatever the hell I can get my grubby hands on! I was looking at reloading for the 220 as I have read a lot of good reports on it. But really, the only 1:7 twist I have seen is the Noveske and I've been trying to grab one for MONTHS now. I should have grabbed the Rainier Arms 8.5" 1:8 when they had them, but missed that boat too due to indecision. The 1:8 is fine, as the 205 works for me too, but I am not going over the 8.5" length... pairing this with the Specwar so since it's longer my barrel is going shorter ;)
  5. hmmm... was hoping for 8" or 8.5" and 1:7... gonna be 90% suppressed subsonics.
  6. length? twist? details...
  7. You mean like his?: My toys .308 built on Bushmaster LR308 beginning (still need quality scope) Range day Colt 5.56, Bushmaster .308 and Tavor 5.56 Helping to test a new all metal magazine for Saiga12 Goofing off with my S&W MP15-22
  8. 1000+ daaaamn... yeah, maybe I'll grab a couple since I'm duracoating these days anyways. s'ok... I get a good laugh on calls with you guys too ;-) But it's all in good fun. Been a few time sI was *REALLY* glad to have some brothers in blue along side us. Sometimes whacking some coked out dude with a radio just does NOT do the trick... All the mushy stuff aside now, you seen these? We laugh our asses off on these at work occasionally Loads more of them out there.
  9. HAHA! well usually the smart ones are running OUT of burning building...
  10. hmmm.... maybe another build is in order. Oh... and by the way.... you know why God made firefighters right? So cops could have heros too
  11. truthfully, with all the talk of NSA snooping and so on I figure it's too late if you're asking now C:-)
  12. count me in, price dependant?
  13. I may be down for a group buy purchase, but $500 alone is too steep, even for the giggle factor. $300-350 I can do... and it would be a great addition to my 8" .300aac SBR I am building as we speak...
  14. hmm.... a giggle switch without the cost/hassle of full NFA, and the moving of the slidefire. Hmm...
  15. I saw a link on the main MagLula page, and followed it to: Speedloader Store: http://www.speedloaderstore.com/contents/en-us/p390.html Got two as I LOVE LOVE LOVE my .223 loader, and one was stolen at the range. So I always have a spare just in case...
  16. Yay! hopefully my pre-order ships soon!
  17. I too am gearing up to reload... mostly due to a .300blackout SBR in the works. That, and insane prices on ammo up here in AK since we cannot take advantage of the cheaper online stuff (shipping KILLS it) Just got a Rockchucker kit, dies, Super Swager, and actually found some powder locally. I've been buying and saving brass for some time... I probably have close to 10k in all the different calibers combined in my shed ready to go. All I need is a few bullets and a buddy is gonna walk me thru it. That in itself will be a challange - he's a bolt gun fanatic for accuaracy, and thinks my love of semi's is misplaced LOL. I told him I just want bulk ammo that will hit a steel target at distance, I could care less if every round went thru the same hole or not. You should have seen the look on his face! HAHA!
  18. Great thread... got some reading to do! if anyone ever wants to post pics of their setups, I'd sure like to see the different options!
  19. I gotta stop reading this thread... :-[
  20. either way, makes me want to buy some more of whatever I can get. Panic? not really, but foreshadowing foresight is more like it. now we'll be more dependant on imported ammo, and whats to stop Obama from using an EO to ban that? It's know he has mentioned it... frankly, I'm surprised he hasn't already. I don't think the ammo shortage is due to this... but it WILL be the cause when it gets worse in the near future. Frankly, even if the ammo is not up to par, it's better than throwing rocks.
  21. sad thing is, I can't find anything locally, other than steel cased crap or the Federal - maybe a box here and there of other stuff, but also at inflated prices. I may break down and buy some, but I really want to think things will return to normal. And then I go and read about this: http://www.nraila.org/news-issues/articles/2013/10/end-of-an-era-last-us-lead-smelter-to-close-in-december.aspx No idea how this will affect things, but in my opinion.... not very well. Almost enough to make me rethink the case of Federal at Sportsmans.
  22. so it's all Sportsmans, not just up here? wow. I'm a little low on 308, but that's ridiculous. I knew I should have bought more when it was $699. Live and learn... (and buy it no matter how pissed off the wifely unit© gets)
  23. found a few cases of 1k rounds of Federal today (local)... for only $899! ouch.
  24. mockp of my projected build, as best I could do on Gunstruction(not all my parts available there) Built around a Nnoveske 8.2" .300aac barrel and Specwar 7.62 can...
  25. man these threads kill me. One thing that sucks about living in Alaska is that shipping KILLS any ammo deal online - after shipping I may as well buy at the local prices. I hope to God that when Cabelas finally opens their first store up here this spring that they honor the free shipping to store offer that now includes ammo (according to their website) But I doubt it'll be much more than their Herters stuff...
