  1. Same here, and that the reason for not putting the NFA item on it BEFORE you had the stamp is legally the Trust does not yet legally own it. Until the Stamp arrives, it's not legally yours. Again tho, not a lawyer, just reciting what I was told by mine.
  2. I was told NOT to put my can on the Schedule A until it was approved and stamp in hand. My lawyer set up my trust with $10 assigned to it upon creation, and had me get a $10 bill, add it to the Schedule A. That $10 bill now resides with my original paperwork in a safe deposit box, just in case someone wants to see it - I could also remove it as the Grantor, but kinda fun to have it.. With the $10 bill added at creation of the Trust, it showed the Trust owned something right away (or some fancy legalese he spoke) on the Schedule and has been sent in with all of my purchases. Not a lawyer, did not sleep in a Holiday Inn Express, but that's what I was told. And I have read the same on the intertubes, and we all know it must be true then.
  3. check is in the mail :-[
  4. Damn! Life crashed down around me the last month... TOTALLY forgot about this! Money will be out tomorrow for mine.
  5. Some reason I like the Weapon Outfitter's redhead or there's this: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=girls+with+guns&FORM=HDRSC2
  6. This has been in the works for a bit... we're close to the first 30 days of the comment period. Here's the link to read up, and post your comments for/against the change. https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/09/09/2013-21661/machine-guns-destructive-devices-and-certain-other-firearms-background-checks-for-responsible There are a number of places online that have ideas for ways to write a good comment, not just 'this sucks' or 'don't do it'... facts are, only 3 NFA weapons have been reported in a crime (at least that were REGISTERED as NFA)... some say only 2. It is horse$hit as it's nothing but a feelgood change for the gun grabbers. Basically it's something Obama can do without approval from anyone, but thankfully they still have to go thru the 90 day comment period for any changes to take effect. I believe the 90 days is up Dec 9th? Get your comments in, have your family do it, and make it good. I read thru a number of the comments, and formed mine after reading them. Helped calm me down reading some of the very well written comments. BUT... anyone that thinks they will NOT do these changes needs to rethink that. There is NO reason to believe they will not do it - the comment period is simply a formality they have to abide by. The only question is, will any forms submitted before the change be grandfathered, or rejected and told to reapply under the new rules? I'd be willing to bet there are a TON of new Trusts formed and forms submitted right now... 98, sorry, but I'm not a lawyer. But, the way I read it, they only need the fingerprints and background checks. The NFA item is owned by the trust, therefore one stamp. But, I'm not a lawyer so...
  7. me three! (in for one, not three ::) )

    Funky Catch

so this summer, I had a friend come up for the 2nd year in a row. Some may recognize the name... Tony Rumore of Tromix fame. Big name in Saiga12 circles, as well as .458 SoCom AR's. ANYWAYS... he and a buddy came up to go halibut fishing, and on our last day we caught a rather prehistoric looking Wolf Eel Strange thing is they like rocky bottoms with lots of cover. The area we fish is all flat, muddy bottoms. I think I need to investigate the area and see if there is a rock spire or something we have not seen.
  10. Love Oshkosh, but haven't been since 1995. Great pics!
  11. Interested in any reports on build quality, finish quality and range report!
  12. Haha! No worries... I am on a few boards where the motto is 'Read More, Post Less and Search Often'! I know better... LMAO Be curious to see if the quality is good... $218 for a 308 BCG seems damn good.
  13. Sorry... guess I need to look/search more. Just figured it would be in the 'parts' area! I might just have to get a backup...
  14. Anyone know anything about these guys? Saw this news flash on AR15News http://www.ar15news.com/2013/08/03/great-deal-high-quality-nickel-boron-308-bcg-218/ It has all the right stuff it would seem... just not sure if they are known at all? Plus the deal thru AR15News is a pretty damn good price. I have my Harris Tact BCG, but never hurts to have a spare,
  15. It is a great place to be... someplace everyone needs to visit IMO. But if you want to MOVE here, I suggest visiting in January fo a few weeks and see if you still like it. long dark and cold days will change most minds...
  16. The advantages to owning your own boat and living in Alaska! Shrimp pots in Prince William Sound Ling Cod! 92# halibut Ling Cod, Yelloweye, Black rockfish and halibut Silver salmon, pink salmon and one poor little halibut (more pics HERE)
  17. style #1 (R/W/B) in XL please
  18. Well, it seems to be improving - that, or my string of horrible luck changed. I managed to snag 1k rounds of .223 and 100 rnds of 7.62x51 today, and just slighly higher than 6 months ago prices. Wished it had been 1k of the 7.62, but that's the first boxes of it I've seen so hopefully soon.
  19. of course they come out after I order mine thru Harris Tactical! I'm picking mine up tomorrow at the PO since I was out fishing when it was delivered (or tried too... sig required) One thing tho, and others may refute it. But, in my armorer's course, the guy teaching it said to only get bolts made from Carpenter158 steel... he said in all his service, he saw other metals fail much more commonly than the C158. The one from Rainier is made of 9310 steel. But it is tested, so...?
  20. back on this, i got my shipping notice today from Harris Tactical about my BCG. It'll be interesting to see if I have the same extractor issue with theirs, and have to do the double spring/double donut on it to make it work.
  21. Buddy's son is an armorer in the USMC. He told me to buy the SWFA SS HD. That's all I need to know, and I'm saving up.
  22. Yup! Have them bookmarked. I got my mags today... and was happy that they shipped FAST, and true to the flat rate price. Just hit a site from SlickGuns about .223 pmags, and their shipping rate... for USPS flat rate.... was $48!!!! I got the same number of .308 mags for the actual shipping price of $12. I'll be looking in on Bayou Tactical a little more often.
  23. I've gotten a couple thousand rounds of once fired LC fromthe EE area on AR15.com, something like $175 per 1k shipped I think it was. It pops up from time to time... ran them all thru the SS tumbler and it all looks good - haven't found but a couple damaged and nothing really scratched at all.
  24. is the parts kit nothing more than the mag, torn down to the parts? 8)
  25. bummer... they don't use flat rate. that equals raped on shipping to AK. Good price tho. Oh well... found a bunch on Arfcom so I'm good for awhile.
