  1. Seriously though three main components ; bolt carrier, bolt , barrel extension are all critical and changing one of these can move the round forward on backward a .001" into the barrel. The most common change would be swapping out a bolt and most people don't check after they have put a new bolt in. AR-15 is more stardard, headspace gauges are not that expensive. Buy it onceand your good of life. 308 gauges cost a little more but same deal buy once. Or if your cheap like me , go to your freinds shop and put the go guage in then the no-go guage and hope for the best. Here's a example your building an engine and you check the crankshaft to bearing clearance with a little piece of wax. You do it just so you know, doesn't mean you will remachine the parts but if its out of spec you know then a can do something to fix it. Same with go-no-go gauges ,peace of mind check !
  2. Its like the lottery... You can't win if you don't play. Wonder what the insurance company will pay ! Wash , was that you at the Ferrari dealership last week ?
  3. Welcome from AZ ! I have both , love my 6.8spcII but 1/4 mile range is about it. The 308 will shoot a 1000 yards.
  4. Rob , you're thinking the same as me. But I didn't want to suggest using sandpaper or emery cloth and a file.
  5. Imr 8208 xbr Here is a pic of the bottle. I use it for 6.8spc and 223 in one gun only. Did not work well in the 308 rifle.
  6. Tried but I can't post this from my phone. Go to youtube and search for MrColinNoir .45acp guns and the people who carry them. Good laugh !
  7. Can't you just go to your LGS and ask to look at their parts bin ? Both my LGS have then with small AR parts. Like. This !
  8. Bet money ;the tolarances of the coating are interfearing. (is too thick) I would replace the extractor with a stock type part and put new stock ejector and spring in it. Plain Jane DPMS parts, used would be better because it would be a known fact that it works.
  9. IMR8208XBR is not a very good powder for 308's. Also it needs to be pushed towards the upper limit for accuracy. That is just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt ! Varget and IMR 4064 are the desired powders for 308 projos from 150 to 180gr.. Read...Read...Read ! Get several manuals. Great info in the reloading section.
  10. Only NEED one round per badguy , that's why 45's are so good ! They also Never miss ! Seem to takes souls too ! OR The people in power bought stock in Chip McCormick and CheckMate !0 round Mags.
  11. Welcome from AZ !
  12. $2.00 per round ! That's the buddy f#ck price.
  13. Gun control !
  14. Valarie Thompson... THE FASTEST GIRL ON TWO WHEELS !
  15. Do you have two pics ? Loose and installed . THX

  19. Crimp pressure is subjective ! More by feel. Light crimp is better but be consistance. If you have a cannelure ... use it , you would have lost a little COAL. But gained consistancy by crimping on the cannelure. JMO.
  20. You used a minimum charge of powder... just shoot them. The added pressure of the deep seating will not be excessive and will not hurt anything. If you are still worried used a kinetic puller or a collet puller setup. Most manuals will have a minimum height for OAL per projectile. Once you move up to longer projectiles your maximum OAL will be just less than the magazine size. There is a sweet spot of 2.795" to 2.805" (165gr to 180gr + ) on 308Win ammo on the longer bullets and 2.780" to 2.790" on the shorter bullets(147gr to 150gr).
  21. Shibiwan , this is AZ that does not matter. It would make a difference if it was a pistol and you wanted it engraved with "AR PISTOL" on the lower. Since yours has a 16" barrel you are good to go,
  22. Try to fix it by ALL means possible before you Loctite it.
  23. The story I have been told by many different people is ; A Japanese soldier considered the weapon s property of the Emperior. They were told to mare the rifle if they knew would be killed or captured. Most rifles were hit with the buttstock of another rifle acrossed the flower.
  24. Needs either new wood or a stock from another gun.
