  1. For a cheap forearm loop you can rig up something with paracord ala BFG UWL.
  2. Holy crap those are clean compared to mine! =P
  3. I'm always whining about your .223 BattleComp. The .308 one is much tamer.
  4. Bubbasks and I have had the opportunity to play around with a decent amount of .308 muzzle devices (I'm waiting for a new 120fps camera to finish our comparison). Of the comps we've gone through I like the Griffin Armament 7.62 Flash Comp and the PWS FSC 30 the most. The BABC was definitely an improvement over an A2-style comp, but was a bit more difficult to control due to a noticeable downward push. It's also a lot more expensive than the GA or PWS. If you're looking primarily for recoil mitigation though (impulse straight back into you), grab a brake! Just be advised other people around you won't be very happy (I avoid shooting next to people with Surefire 7.62 brakes like the plague!). If you want something that will mitigate muzzle movement and not be as punishing to those around you, go for a comp.
  5. $190.78 shipped. They also have the G2S for $141.63 shipped, which is supposed to feel equivalent to the SSA.
  6. Sionics Weapons Systems is having a sale on VLTOR EMODs for only $85.95 shipped! Great price on a solid stock.
  7. Stretch that $100 a bit and pick up a Geissele G2S, you won't regret it.
  8. Part of it is the name, the other part of it is the knowns with Colt vs the unknowns with Eagle Arms (which is now Armalite). Everybody knows the materials and QC Colt uses/does, but I couldn't tell you what Eagle Arms' bolt and barrel are made of or what QC processes they went through.
  9. I don't know about that... Crush washers don't crush very evenly.
  10. Yup, and later when I sold that rail to Ryan it came out to 75-80 on his too.
  11. Nice! I want one of those for a faux-SBR project.
  12. My NSR installs have been on the high side of the torque range as well.
  13. The the loading of the indexing pin is only dominant till the barrel nut is tight enough to where the friction between the receiver face and barrel extension flange takes over, which is pretty quickly.
  14. Robocop may or may not have convinced me to switch to BAD levers ;)... P.S. thanks Roger! =P
  15. Thank you for your thoughts! I definitely don't have any agenda, but figured that other people here were probably wondering the technical merits of the Red spring vs. the Armalite one like I was. I don't buy small anecdotal samples of "This is the best thing ever!" and figured if anybody had taken a solid look at them it would've been you since you state that you carry products based upon performance. "Flavor of the month" was referring to the back and forth people constantly do about what's the best way to optimize their buffer system. One day it's "use x buffer" and the next it's "use y spring instead!" Soon enough they come full circle and recommend "x buffer" again... I find it fishy when Springco's page recommends their Red spring for Armalite pattern receiver extensions, but their customer service then tells a customer "Oh yeah, that Orange spring that you ordered for your Armalite pattern receiver extension, because somebody erroneously recommended it online, will work great too!"
  16. Why do you want mid over rifle?
  17. You'll want either the CAR-10 or CAR-10 XH. If you want to try out the CAR-10 you can still get in on the Clint posted.
  18. Hi Clint, I was wondering what your thoughts on the Springco Red spring are. How does it compare to the Armalite springs you sell? These seem to be "buffer flavor of the month" for the MWS. Here's the description:
  19. Got mine in earlier this week for a friend's birthday present. That was fast! Thanks Clint!
  20. It would prevent the oxidization, assuming you have a complete coating, however you wouldn't be able to turn on the sight since dielectrics are insulators (unless you had some high voltage to punch through the dielectric, but that would act the same as having an inline resistor and reduce power efficiency).
  21. The repair kits are nice, but they don't stop the battery contacts from oxidizing over or from the unit draining batteries when supposedly off. I was surprised the contacts oxidized since I've never had that happen to anything else. A little HCl fixed that temporarily.
  22. Yup, I had issues with my old 552. Considering an EXPS2 for a new rifle though.
  23. All the 901 showed was that Colt could develop a magazine well adapter (and charge $300 for a simple piece of plastic)... No more complex than the STANAG mag adapters for the G36. I would've been much more impressed if you could just take out the adapter and slap the upper on there and go, but as it is you still need to swap the buffer and action spring too.
  24. So, what's the discounted rate for cerakoting .308AR members' stuff? ;)
