I just measured some carriers of mine: MWS: -Front of carrier to end of shoulder: 3-9/32" -Overall carrier length: 7-7/8" PWS: -PWS' shoulder is ~1/8" longer, but their .308 EBT is about 3/4" shorter internally (still fits an AR-10 pattern buffer system though). -Overall carrier length: 7-7/8"

They're the same. Also, DPMS and Remington are both owned by Freedom group so it's really just a rebadge of the DPMS G2.

Looking at the SR25/M110s in service with the US, Armalite AR-10s with the Canadians, and MWS with the UK and NZ I'd say yup!

Check the pull weight adjustment screw. I had an issue with my Elftmann too that required me to watch the installation video on their site to find out what was causing it... If you adjust the trigger pull too light then the disconnector doesn't release (and the trigger won't reset), if you adjust the pull too heavy, then it won't release at all when you pull the trigger. I had mine set too light and ended up having to push the trigger forward after each shot to get it to reset the first time I took it out.

G2s are overgassed in my experience.

So I took an AR-10 action spring (brand new) and AR-15 carbine buffer and stuck it in a clear tube (one that a springco spring comes in) and compressed them both to see if the spring prevents the buffer from bottoming out. The buffer bottoms out before the spring reaches full compression. This is what I expected.

I'm 99% positive that this is a rebranded velocity trigger. I think Elf is it's own thing. Look a the differences in the housings.

The G2 has a larger firing pin hole, this is what allows the primers to crater. It's no big deal.

Let me know if you need a 120-240fps video camera for that. :)

It's also important to check how far down the carrier the shoulder of the carrier goes. For example, on my PWS MK2 carrier the shoulder extends about 1/8" further than a normal LR308 carrier's (I compared it to my MWS and a CMMG MK3 carrier). I think it'd be pretty easy to tell if the buffer is bottoming out by putting a piece of white paper in the end of the receiver extension, and then putting marker or sooting up the end of the buffer. It should leave a print if it bottoms out under normal recoil.

The "B" one won't work. The "A" one should though since it's for DPMS/SR-25 pattern mags.

Just a note, the heavy buffers CAR-10 is longer than a standard LR308 carbine buffer by about 1/8". At least the one I bought was...

The Matrix Keymod rail looks interesting. Mainly, because they oriented the key slots in the opposite directly as everybody else lol.

I'm not sure they have the dead blow buffer in there anymore... When I last looked at my .308 EBT it didn't look like it had one..

^Heh, I spy one of my lowers there ;) How deep is the travel from the end of the receiver extension (internally) to the edge of the lower where the marks are? Also, got a pic of your carrier? I'm curious if the shoulder extends further back than most other .308 carriers.

Oh that's interesting. How'd you find that out? What else did Faxon have to say about them? I wonder if they're using them because they're solid, or because they're cheap lol.

Solid looking build! Would you be opposed to taking a 10rnd PMAG and blocking 5rnds out? That's what I'd do.

The action of the PWS system itself is reliable. That said, they do have tighter match chambers which causes chamber pressures to be a bit higher. All of my 175gr match ammo exhibits cratered primers (never had any pop a primer though). If you use really hot M80 ball you can get popped primers (CBC/Magtech M80 ball did this with my MK216). I can say their CS is top notch though and keeps you in the loop far more than any other company I've dealt with though. The MK216 is a well put together gun, but it isn't a rugged throw everything and anything at it gun. It doesn't like higher pressure ammo. To be fair though, that CBC/Magtech M80 ball shows high pressure signs in other guns too and I wouldn't recommend it in general.

Better in what areas? Weight, barrel accuracy, weight distribution, ect.? There are lots of criteria where it can be better, which ones are the most important to you? It's not exactly an even comparison given the different operating methods. I wouldn't say PWS has more mainstream parts. Just look at the piston system!
