  1. You time it to 11:58 at hand tightness? I've tried timing them to 11 o'clock with hand tightness before using a wrench and every time I've had them work loose.
  2. Many mfg that use shims to time the device recommend hand tightening it to the 10:30 position and then using a wrench to go to TDC.
  3. I asked Geissele almost this exact question last month when I got my Tricon trigger. I love the trigger profile, but was wondering if there was a way to reduce the trigger pull to an SSA-E level. They said that you can't do it without some trade-offs. You can reduce the trigger pull by buying a SSA-E Spring Kit, but you won't have the same crisp break. They wouldn't elaborate on what the break would feel like though... Maybe I'll try it with my SD-E's springs one of these days...
  4. Wow, I'm not sure how they'd just fall out like that. Certainly odd... I also wouldn't expect the phone tech support to know why without taking a look at the gun either. BMoney's G2 Recon has run very well and I always enjoy shooting it. My only real complaint with it is that the castle nut wasn't torqued to 40ft-lbs and staked. I wouldn't worry about the upper to lower fit. It doesn't affect function or accuracy.
  5. Installed mine today, have only dry fired it, but I'm a fan of the trigger profile. Maybe I'll get time next weekend or the weekend after to actually fire it...
  6. Welcome! Are you just looking for handguards or looking to add a rail system? What do you want the handguards to be able to do (do you want lightweight, quad rail, ect.)?
  7. So does that mean the issue is with the spring guide not fitting into the rear opening of the carrier? I can see how a spacer up from that has an opening large enough for the spring guide would work if that is the issue. The only difference is that they're changing the reciprocating mass, but that might not be a bad thing since the G2 could use a heavier buffer anyways.
  8. Well, I sent the trigger off to Art Elftmann today. He had me ship it to his residence so he could personally take a look at it because he said that they're made elsewhere (sounded like a contract machine shop). He seemed pretty surprised I was getting light primer strikes with the AR-10 model. He also said that they re-designed the trigger housing recently when I asked him about the hammer nicking the sides of the housing when the BCG pushes it down. We'll see what happens...
  9. $200 shipped after code "10OFF".

    AR Trigger

Yup. A RRA match trigger failed in the last carbine course I was at this past month. Wasn't that old either. The lower was deadlined because of it.
  11. SSA-E by far. The G2S and SSA feel pretty much identical.
  12. I agree. A buddy bought me this Barska 20-125x88 spotting scope and it's a piece of junk. The eye relief is so poor you can't use it with any eye pro (so if you use it at a range they'll yell at you when you move your eyepro out of the way...). Glass quality is super poor.
  13. My evaluation: -Scant technical information contribution (despite the broadcasting of technical credentials at every opportunity). Of little technical value. -Lots of useless noise/drama. -Didn't heed polite warning (so here's a more blunt one: Read more and post less). I have little use for someone who lowers the SNR of the technical information on this site. We are better without you Lazerus.
  14. http://www.dw.de/german-defense-minister-says-no-future-for-g36-rifles-in-bundeswehr/a-18399209 G36 is on the way out. Robo, your dept might be able to get spare parts now! I'm betting they go with the 416.
  15. The G2 uses the same buffer system as the LR308 G1, so from a buffer system point of view it should work. My guess is that opening in the back of the G2 carrier is too small to allow the rod of the SCS to pass through. My PWS MK2's carrier is like that.
  16. Hey Easy, Spare set as in sell the trigger with two sets of pins? One set is included.
  17. This trigger is almost new. It came in my MWS and was switched out for a Geissele SD-E shortly after. I'm pretty sure I never shot this trigger (dry fired a couple times though). Paypal works best. Asking: $105 shipped SOLD
  18. I'm disappointed, here I was all excited to see pics of a bunch of CLASSIC ARMALITE AR-10s only to be met with LR308s. Lazarus after all the teasing about the classics, Y U DISAPPOINT?
  19. If I had more time, maybe I'd be interested in troubleshooting this trigger more, but I've been spoiled by the boring reliability of Geissele. The fact that a couple of us have had issues with the disconnector (since no good documentation is included) with these triggers shows that they haven't reached a level of finesse for those who'd just like a "drop in and go" solution. I'll probably sell mine as soon as my second Tricon comes in ;).
  20. It'd probably sell, but not nearly enough to make it worth the investment.
  21. Some here just prefer the Shakespearean wisdom of, "Brevity is the soul of wit." Those of us in engineering just call it "high SNR".
  22. Which gun is the A5 for?
  23. It doesn't necessarily make it our (US) milspec, but it's hard to deny that it isn't "their" milspec ;). If we look at how the current AR-15 TDP became "milspec" it was because "That's what Colt's submission happened to have." and therefore got accepted as the standard. You can't claim that there isn't a milspec for the M110 SASS, but as there's no second source providers, the TDP is essentially Knight's secret. Knight's IS the milspec for the M110 system though.
  24. So I finally got to run the Elftmann AR-10 trigger today on the PWS and all I can say is, wow this thing really needs a stronger hammer spring... I had 5 light primer strikes in 30rnds (SSA 175gr match and HSM M118LR Equiv). No issues with the trigger resetting and no issues releasing the hammer when the trigger was pulled, but the light primer strikes were unacceptable. I was able to take those rounds and fire them through my MWS later with its SD-E trigger.
