They really don't get it....and this is from me, a "f*ing foreigner" who now owns guns. :D
It's really strange that nobody mentions countries like Rawanda, Somalia, Burundi, Croatia, etc. They all have restrictive gun laws but does that work? No, because of the amount of illegal firearms that are available and flowing into the various regions. All that "power" becomes focused within small groups run by warlords.
If gun control legislation becomes an overnight success here, I believe we'll end up like parts of Mexico where the drug lords run the show.
TL:DR - without controlling the influx of illegal firearms (i.e. proper border security), it'll be impossible to impose any realistic gun control. I guess we have to thank the likes of Leland Yee for supporting the illegal gun trade. <lmao>
