  1. Yeah, this forum is a bunch of clowns with a couple nitpickers thrown in. :D ....but they're all a helpful and knowledgeable bunch!
  2. Durka durka Mohammed Jihad.
  3. Some people here just nitpick, nitpick, nitpick..... <lmao> <laughs> ...who am I to judge? They all look like arabs to me. :)) :)) :)) :)) :)) :))
  4. Thanks - does it work now?
  5. DPMS 308 mag or Magpul PMAG 20LR? I load mine per mil-spec length (69.9mm to 71.12mm max) and adjust powder loads accordingly. Fits in the magpul mags nicely and have no problems at all. Sounds like you're loading based on the rifling lands. This will result in over-length cartridges depending in what barrel you have.
  6. Continuing the buildup/optimization, hoping to make it even more reliable -- PSA NiB bolt carrier set. I figure this will cut down on the friction of the reciprocating parts and also easier to clean.
  7. More accessories for my toys!
  8. They really don't get it....and this is from me, a "f*ing foreigner" who now owns guns. :D It's really strange that nobody mentions countries like Rawanda, Somalia, Burundi, Croatia, etc. They all have restrictive gun laws but does that work? No, because of the amount of illegal firearms that are available and flowing into the various regions. All that "power" becomes focused within small groups run by warlords. If gun control legislation becomes an overnight success here, I believe we'll end up like parts of Mexico where the drug lords run the show. TL:DR - without controlling the influx of illegal firearms (i.e. proper border security), it'll be impossible to impose any realistic gun control. I guess we have to thank the likes of Leland Yee for supporting the illegal gun trade. <lmao>
  9. That's a great scope for the money!
  10. BTW, that's the plan when we get the FFL. We'll focus/specialize in "non 5.56" caliber AR's (6.8, 300 BLK) and leverage our SOT-2 to build suppressors for the rifles. Doesn't mean we'll not build the standard 5.56 rifles, just far less of them.
  11. Tested a bunch of Barnes VOR-TX 300 AAC (with the 110gr Tac-TX) and didn't see them hit the target at 100 yds so I gave up after a mag before I wasted more of them. Probably due to me being a moron and zeroing @50 yds with subsonics. :)) :)) :))
  12. He mentioned "trenchcoat" and I was imagining a flasher with mags in the trenchcoat pockets. <laughs>
  13. P227, comes with 10-round mags, but the 14-round mags should be available.... eventually. I assume Mec-Gar will start making them. When you get ready to sell the P220, give me a shout. The 20-round mags fit any P226. The Tac-Ops model just has the additional fancy grips designed around the 20-round mags. Other thing to consider is the new X-Five Tactical (or German market X-Five SO) - it's basically an SAO P226 9mm with a 5" barrel, precision trigger, and standard 17-round capacity mags, and the recent re-design has "modernized" the look somewhat. FYI - the P227 is a double stacked P220. The entire slide assembly (barrel and all) can be switched back and forth between the two. Triggers etc are all interchangeable.
  14. "Inside the pants holster" LOL
  15. You posted it a couple days late and I had already ordered it. Then again I had some credit from PSA so I had to use it on something.

    well....

Heh... Jon had mentioned that "ammo day" at Sportsman's in Tucson is becoming a shove-fest.
  17. shibiwan

    well....

Out here on the east side of Phoenix, there's like 4-5 guys who are regulars at Walmart buying up all the 22LR ($25ish/brick) and then re-selling for $50/brick. The managers in Walmart are just now starting to pay attention.
  18. Perhaps time for me to design/make something pistol specific. :D
  19. Good price but after factoring in shipping.... *sigh* BTW, these are the same as the 110 TTSX except for a different label (and some retailers charge a buck or two extra).
  20. Why not get an XD-M in 45? Is it the double stack mag that's an issue?
  21. +1 on this. I believe most homebrew builders finishing up an 80% upper are using a regular knee mill (like a Bridgeport, at best, or a cheap Harbor Freight one, at the worst). It's hard to control these during a ramped plunge, and especially with aluminum, the flutes of the endmill will clog up. The other thought is that most of these guys end up doing a full depth cut and doing it one pass, hence the need to drill-rough in order to (again) prevent the endmill from clogging up. In a CNC environment with proper coolant/cutting fluid, the pocket can be easily machined with a z-ramp contour cut, or multiple profile passes with proper controlled ramping. The coolant and the multiple pass cutting will prevent the endmill from loading up with aluminum.
  22. Not an issue for my situation IMO. I'm not doing any security work or anything similar....... it's primarily there for defensive emergencies. I have a regular RH paddle when I carry in a more active situation. So far so good... [uPDATE 6/10] It's super comfortable in my back. :D
  23. I carry IWB in the small of my back and I prefer it facing the other direction when I reach for it. Photo was just taken at an accessible angle. <lmao> (3.....2.....1..... someone is going to give me cråp for the way I'm carrying it.....)
