I picked up some Rem UMC 300 AAC 220gr subs at $22.98 on Friday. The same guy also has 125gr Rem OTM 300 AAC at $36.99 and Barnes Vor-TX 300 AAC 110gr (don't know price, probably high $35-$40)... may go back to pick up more.

14.5" 300 AAC Pistol Gas CMV 1:8 Barrel, from MAS Defense (yes, yes, I know rule 65b). Pretty good quality for $169.99 + $10 shipping. Went with pistol length gas (hence the 14.5" barrel) for more reliability with subs.

The Key Mod ones are the new craze. It's a new "open" standard to allow rail and parts interchangeability. Not sure on color choices though. Oh and if you're looking at a PRI tube, I have an unused "takeoff" CMMG Mod1 tube that you may be interested in... cheap. It's a midlength though. One of the most comfortable float tubes around.

Looked at any of the Keymod rails yet? Like this one from CMMG Or Midwest...

What are you specifically looking for in a float tube? Certain look? Certain features?

So according to one of our older forum posts, the LAR-8 upper uses the AR-10 thread. So that should eliminate it from fitting on any DPMS-pattern upper.

Make sure you get the correct length buffer and buffer spring. The 308 buffers are about 3/4" shorter than their AR15 counterparts. 308 Carbine Buffers are about 1.5" long. Don't forget to get the right spring too. P.S. Welcome from AZ!

There are only two barrel nut thread sizes in use with the 308AR. There's the standard "DPMS" thread size and the "Armalite" thread size. Not sure which one the LAR8 uses.
