  2. Speaking from a consumer standpoint, would they want a gun that is "keyed" to the person through some form of computer technology? Based on the demographics of gun owners, answer is going to be a resounding "NO!" They'd be killing the companies while new ones will pop up that caters to the needs of the consumer. Gotta love capitalism.... then again who knows if they'll lobby congress to force the implementation of such features in new firearms. They certainly have the money to hire "good" lobbyists!
  3. Weak/cracked BCG maybe? Looks like it split right down the middle where the gas key screws are, starting at the gas chamber in the BCG.
  4. Let them "consolidate". There will be more than enough small business that will pop up as the bigger ones get consolidated. I think I smell some VC's and investment types trying to capitalize on the current arms market prior to 2016; which will lead to a pre-election price escalation like the last round. They're probably thinking that they can make quick profits if that eventuality comes around, and dump it later after acquiring the intellectual property rights that are currently owned by Freedom Group.
  5. Mesmerizing
  6. I had the impression that your classes were at Sportsmans...
  7. The addiction is worsening. 20% off at Palmetto so I pick up an FDE UBR stock for the 300 blk .... $50 off YAY!
  8. Stop shooting 22's - problem solved. :D :D :D If you ever post those photos up, send them over and I'll toss them up on Backpage.
  9. They are going at less than $30/500 at Bass Pro, Cabelas, Walmart etc. Supposedly there are some people who wait/camp there and buy them all up and resell for $50/box
  10. It's going for around $50 in these parts.
  11. Almost bought this for my kid for Xmas. He's 7, takes things apart and loves building "robots".
  12. The 22 LR sh*t is happening everywhere.
  13. Individuals are buying them up and reselling for $35/lb on backpage.com. Seen lots of them recently.
  14. ....and that's was the last we heard from shepp....
  15. LOL... nothing like sleeping in your own gun vault. It's currently filled with some firearms, and TOYS that we confiscated from the kids for some reason or other (including 8 NERF GUNS!!!).. That's why the bedroom's always locked up tight!
  16. Dude, that looks sweet!
  17. Points taken. All firearms are in the master bedroom with an automatic digital multi-combination lock (to stop kids from barging in, we had one foster kid that also locked us out of our bedroom once - lesson learned). Rifles are always secured, unloaded, ammo stored in a completely separate location. As for my carry piece, it gets unloaded when I step into the house, then goes straight into the bedroom.
  18. Don't need to be the ginuea pig. Same concept as wearing fine (or coarse) chainmail under your clothes (been proven).... although, I'm pretty sure the raw carbon fiber will make the clothes itch like a b*tch over time. Oh, and the barbed taser tips hurt when you remove them later in a "safe" place.
  19. Yup, the new site isn't that extensive.
  20. Example of the data from the old hogdon site (see attached). New Hodgon site isn't that fantastic and you have to scroll up and down to see all the data. Load Map 308-180gr.pdf
  21. Me no likey. Old one worked better because it gave you all the data in a table which was easy to look up. Now it's all fancy schmancy crap designed to appeal to the ADHD generation.
  22. We had a thread on the bike forum I run and that was also jacked by Sandy. She can be such a threadjacker.
  23. Not having a safety on my sig (DA/SA) is the only thing keeping me from chambering a round. Just makes me nervous that if the kids somehow get hold of it that it's ready to fire.... Racking it takes some effort from their part since the kids aren't coordinated or strong enough to rack the slide.
  24. Look at the other pics in that album. It's a DD upper. Some guy is pictured shooting it a page or two before the kaboom pics. Forge marks show that the upper began life at Anchor Harvey. http://brainonsigs.smugmug.com/BANG/Things-that-go-BANG/
  25. Sandy Summers... ah yes... :D
