  1. Still not lighter that an aluminum BCM KMR with a V7 WS barrel nut (campared to the Atlas which has a top rail)
  2. Cool. Look forward to hearing what you think about the BA barrel. I'm planning a second upper 6.5CM build.
  3. Muzzle brake considerations if you don't plan on running suppressed: Based on all the online testing (thetruthaboutguns, precision rifle blog, and independent youtubers) this is hands down the best brake for the money: http://www.muzzlebrakesandmore.com/ (scores equal or slightly better than APA bastard brakes at 1/2 the price) Only bested by http://terminatorproducts.co.nz/ which are over 3x the price Why did you choose Ballistic Advantage over Criterion for the barrel?

  5. Yeah, Cal is really top notch in his technical testing, mostly objective analysis, and perspectives. If you haven't read his other articles and reviews, do check them out. Good stuff
  6. Cool insights as usual from Cal at the Precision Rifle Blog: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2016/07/22/6-5-creedmoor-ar-showdown/
  7. mjg, let us know how she shoots!
  8. If you've got $600 to spend: http://www.fulton-armory.com/barrelfatitan20nmm110ss1x12875gasblockthreaded-2.aspx
  9. Ah, got it. Yes, that definitely looks like a proprietary mounting system. So, no bdavison78613 it doesn't look like an OBR barrel will work in a Maten receiver. Go for a Lothar-Walther or Criterion.
  10. I don't even think you can buy a LaRue barrel on its own. I think they only sell the rifle as a whole. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You can however, buy a barrel that is extremely similar to the barrel LaRue originally used before they started making their own. They were made by Lothar-Walther, and called the "Var-Tac" series of barrels. LW-50 steel, 1:10 twist, Rifle length gas system. I think they are available in 16", 18" & 20" versions and come with a matched nickel boron bolt for around $450. They will surely fit in a Maten upper (From the Mega website: " Designed to accept any AR style .308 barrels and bolts*. This means you can use your AR10/Noveske or SR25/DPMS components"
  11. Here are two good resources that compare many of the current top trigger choices: http://www.recoilweb.com/ar15triggerguide-1/ http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/04/jeremy-s/ar-15-drop-in-trigger-roundup/
  12. Cool, so it's a Criterion from Fulton? How'd it shoot? What grain?
  13. The M110 or L12A1 are not really set up to be Coyote rifles. Are you looking to make this a lighter weight build? Do you prefer singe or two stage trigger pulls? Are you going to be mounting things / forward grips / etc on the handguard? Do you want a compact telescopic stock or fixed? How much magnification do you need? 1st vs. 2nd focal plane? etc.
  14. TTT - anyone?
  15. Will a Pacific Tool & Guage Remington 700 Short Action bottom metal with removable magazines drop-in and fit flush in a McMillan A5 stock or will it need some fitting? Will the Pacific Tool & Guage accept Magpul's R700 7.62 AC AICS PMAGs? Thanks
  16. Falkor Defense makes a 19" one that comes with a few of their builds. They said it should be available as a stand alone product in the not to distant future.
  17. Falkor Defense makes a 10" one that comes with a few of their builds. They said it should be available as a stand alone product in the not to distant future.
  18. If it's at all similar to their "Military" model, this may be of some help: http://precisionrifleblog.com/2014/09/19/tactical-scopes-field-test-results-summary/
  19. Overall length must be 30" Barrel must be 16" (that can be a 14.5" barrel with a pinned/welded muzzle device, totaling 16") Muzzle devices / threaded muzzles are fine as long as you have a bullet button, and the barrel is at least 16" 10 round mags, max Pretty much as long as you have a bullet button everything else is ok except the round limitation, as long as it meets NFA standards and isn't a short barreled rifle, pistol, suppressed, or have mounted night vision optics People in Cali do have AR pistols and standard capacity mags, but only if obtained before they were banned from further purchase
  20. What may change in within 6 months?
